MONTERREY, Mexico — Six city police officers were arrested Friday in the killing of a mayor in northern Mexico, as the country's escalating drug violence targets more public officials.

The suspects included the officer who guarded the house where Santiago Mayor Edelmiro Cavazos was seized on Sunday. The officer said he was kidnapped with the mayor and later freed unharmed.

The officers confessed to being involved in the Cavazos' killing, said Nuevo Leon state Attorney General Alejandro Garza y Garza, even though some declared their innocence while being presented to the press.

"We are still looking for others who were involved as well," Garza y Garza said.

The body of the 38-year-old mayor was found handcuffed and gagged Wednesday outside of his town, a popular weekend getaway for residents of the industrial city of Monterrey.

This is the stuff of dark, almost horror slasher films.

I'd love to see that border completely closed. Then, just check everyone in the US and send home the invaders. At this point, nothing else will stop the violence from overwhelming the border.

Heck, the feds wouldn't even close the border to stop the spread of swine flu last year.

I have a little nightmare tale of my own about Mexico when I was to be killed by a crime figure because I had angered him; when I realized what was going on I was in an inescapable situation, so I had to engage him in a longer argument and take him on an emotional roller coaster, like a game of Chess, but this time I slowly let him defeat me over the course of a couple or few hours. He was so proud of himself for defeating me intellectually that he changed his mind and let me live, it was a very draining night for me, and one of the pros argued with him about breaking his promise to let him kill me.

I was saddened this year to hear that my little brother had nearly been killed in a large transaction down their back in the early 1970s, I didn’t like knowing that my little brother had gone through such a harsh ordeal.

I used to like Mexico for the excitement, but now it is far worse than it used to be.

What an absurd and stupid accusation.

You seriously believe that the senator has involvement in this?

When the drug lords start killing Democrat mayors in the United States - instead of Republican sheriffs - perhaps the 0bama regime will develop an interest in protecting the border.
