Didier wants Promises from Rossi about Taxes, Abortion
Seattle Times ^ | 20 August 2010 | Jim Brunner

Posted on 08/20/2010 3:49:33 PM PDT by Publius

Clint Didier threw a punch at Republican Senate candidate Dino Rossi on Friday, saying he won't endorse him unless Rossi makes some solid promises about where he stands on taxes, federal spending and abortion.

Didier, the former NFL player and Pasco farmer who placed a distant third in this week's primary, said he could change his mind in a heartbeat if Rossi meets his demands.

But Rossi's campaign said he won't submit to demands by Didier or anyone else.

"I want to endorse Dino Rossi. I really do," Didier said at a news conference in downtown Seattle. "I want to beat Patty Murray in the worst way. I want to send her home with her pink slip in her hand."

But Didier said he could not make a "halfhearted" endorsement to influence the 150,000-plus voters who backed him in the primary.

"That could make the difference about whether Patty Murray or Dino Rossi is our senator," Didier said. "But I also know a lot of my supporters are not going to automatically vote for Rossi. And a lot of them told me they won't even support him at all."

“Oh my! Well I vogted for Dider in the primary, but if Rossi is already turning his nose up at conservative demands, Rossi will not get my vote in November.”

That’s the attitude that got us into this mess in the first place.

A guy who has been in this race 5 times as long as his vicotorious opponent and who only got 12 % of the vote ought to shut up and hang his head in shame. How embarrassingly inept. . He is in no position to be demanding anything.

Sounds like Didier is not giving in to a Liberal RINO....I wish the voters were that way.

Too much beeching about RINOs, but people still vote for them

Let’s see:

Ran a campaign critical and disparaging of his fellow Republicans instead of his adversaries - CHECK

Engineered a cheap stunt aimed at raising dissension within the ranks - CHECK

Upon losing and failing to receive more than 12% of the vote, failed to enthusiastically voice his support for the winning member of his team - CHECK

Snubbed the winner in favor of a sour grapes presser in which he makes demands instead of asking what he can do to help - CHECK

Politically this guy is dead meat. It’s a shame too. I almost voted for him. Whatever promises he made, whatever boasts he claimed, he’s proven himself Not Ready For Primetime.

Pity.

Go Rossi! Let’s put this little distraction behind us and kick the Moron in Tennis Shoes to the curb!

No, voting for liberal Republicans got us into this mess.
There is little difference between a conservative Democrat and a conservative Republican. By the same token, there is little difference between a liberal Democrat and a liberal Republican. What got us into this mess is that the shadow government controlling the RNC will not support a conservative candidate!
The sad fact is that everyone loves to verbally support their candidate, but few are willing to put their money where their mouths are! And it takes big money to win!

In a two-way race, victory comes to the person who can take the middle ground and isolate his opponent on the extremes. Rossi is in the position of isolating Murray on the far left, which is why Murray is running all those strident ads on TV.

In Washington state, three heavily populated liberal counties in the west dominate statewide voting. Because of this, the kind of Republicans who make FReeper hearts go a-flutter can’t win statewide races. For a Republican to win a statewide race in Washington, he needs to get the votes of a large number of independents and Democrats. The state’s “Scoop Jackson” Democrats know all too well that Rossi was robbed in 2004, and they still like him. I know a few of these people myself, and they think Murray is stupid and locked in the past.

This is the time to run to the middle before Murray can occupy that ground and define the race to Rossi’s detriment. Didier isn’t helping matters.

No actually what got us into this mess is 60 dem senators (super majority) a large majority in the house my the dems and a dem POTUS.
Until we realize that we are doomed. Why does North Dakota, one of the most conservative states have 2 rat senators who vote against the conservative agenda 90 + % of the time. There are a number of conservative states with far left liberal senators. Over 20 senators come from these states.
And what do we do? Hunt RINO’S instead of RATS. This country has no change thanks to the likes of you.

I vote conservative in the primary and against RATS in the general.

Didier is a stupid assclown. You lost, tight end, now STFU and get behind Rossi, or quit the party.

You need to go wash your brain out with soap. If you don't vote for Rossi, you might as well just write in "Obama". Grow up and support the nominee.

You forget to take into consideration that Western Washington State is very far left. and no matter what they have to do to win, they call the shots in this state. Since, as you must know, the media is owned by today’s Progressives. So it takes a very dedicated and aware person to find a conservative who is running.

I repeat, if Rossi turns his back on conservative demands, he will not get this conservatives vote. I suppose that in order to get financial support from the RNC, Rossi will be forced to make some serious concessions.

Your attitude is shear insanity. Democrats are destroying this country in front of our very eyes and you want to do your best to ensure that they remain in power.

I suggest that you start learning Arabic and discover the direction of Mecca. This is information that you will need if Conservatives behave as you seemingly intend to do.
