The National Park Service said Thursday that it has approved the permit for the Aug. 28 Glenn Beck/Sarah Palin rally at the Lincoln Memorial.
Park Service spokesman Bill Line said the permit indicates that organizers expect 300,000 people to attend. Line said it is a "fixed rally" without a march. The rally will go from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The park service is processing a permit request for a counter demonstration and rally by the Rev. Al Sharpton...

LOL, Thanks onyx. I almost pinged you but didn't want to sound like I was rubbing it in. I'm glad you're such a good sport, thanks for the help!

Oh, I wish you would have pinged me. The whole idea is to put FReepers together!
That’s why I asked Sarah’s List who planned to attend.

The pond-scum Washington Compost is pulling a little journalistic scam here. Draw your own conclusion from it. I have.
The rally is NOT a Beck/Palin Rally. I repeat, NOT.
Never has been, never will be.
It's organized by Beck himself and he's putting tons and tons of his own personal money into it.
If anyone listened to Glenn tonight, he told BOR the Rally was non-political, non-partisan. Sarah Palin has the teeniest role in the program....she's going to introduce war heroes to the throng. THAT'S IT!
The Post thinks by linking Palin to the rally as a co-sponsor, folks will think it's political.
I'll be interested in what Glenn has to say about this on his show tomorrow.

I’d love to have enough money to send any FReeper who wanted to go. That would be fun to do.

If the New Black Panthers show up, this could be the start of the 2nd Civil War.
They’re bullies and chicken shit$. They might stand off in the distance and act like “bad a$$es. They won’t be messen with any crackers that day.

I heard Beck had convinced Michael Jackson to come out of hiding and talk about his view of civil rights, from the perspective of someone who had seen both sides of the white/black divide.

"I mean really, what would they do if 300,000 showed up and there wasn't a "permit" acquired? They would sh!t in their pants!"
They would have to, there wouldn't be enough portables!

FYI, FoxNews will NOT be showing the rally (Glenn said it on his radio show this week). They may mention it on the news, but it’s going to be the normal Saturday programming.
IMO, it’s a good thing. How many would just sit at home on the couch if it were on tv?

That one can’t be topped, Andy. Have a cigar on me.
