I have no problem with the occasional complaint, but you complain non-stop about the GOP, and after a while it gets old.

So this brings us back to my post to you. Do you *want* to engage in dialog with long-term posters such as myself, or do you just want to rant on and on to anyone who has the misfortune of reading your 100% anti-GOP posts?

I have no need of hearing endless complaints.

On the other hand, I do respect long-term posters here, and I am very interested in people who can suggest solutions and then campaign for the implementation of solutions.

If you are willing to be more positive in getting across your solutions, then I want to read more of your posts.

Otherwise, Free Republic needs an “Ignore Poster” option for one of us to use on the other, or perhaps both.

I was not referencing a personal threat.  I was referencing what looked like a clear threat to me, to knock it off or I would be zotted or something.

What does that sound like to you?  It sounded to me like an implied threat, that if I didn't stop stating fact about the Republican party, I wouldn't be here.

Look, you have an opinion about this.  Well, so do I.  I have graciously endured too many elections where the Republican wins, and then acts like a Democrat for most of their time in office.

In order to prevent that, I am attacking anything Leftist that candidates have done, and anything Leftist our party leaders do.

And why does that party have almost zero control?  To my way of thinking, it's because the party couldn't sufficiently differentiate itself and it's candidates from those of the other party.

Perhaps you are convinced it is me.  I am why.  So what would you have me do, mention a grave problem with the party once a week?  Once per month?  Perhaps once every six months, so the party could operate without being disected for what it's up to?  How is that truly contributory to a sound Conservative presence in the party?

For all the world, that looks like what the real problem is to me.  You don't want anyone to take the party to task.  It's as if it is our party, and we must capitulate to it's will at all times.  Oh excuse me, at all times except officially approved venting perioids?  Once again, is that healthy?  Robust debate is where it's at IMO.

I engage in dialog here constantly.  I engage with folks who agree with me, and I engage with folks who don't.  You really are perplexed here.

I am a long term poster here.  If you call this respect, you and I have two different definitions of respect.  I haven't told you that you have to comply with my demands, or one of us will have to leave the forum.

Free Republic has somehow survived the twelve years I have been here without an ignore poster option.  I'm thinking that if I can deal with your difference of opinion with me, that you should be able to deal with my difference of opinion with you.

When someone intimates that they have the power to do what only Jim Robinson and the moderators are able to do, it's something Jim needs to see.  It's up to him what he wants to do about it, if anything, but someone userping authority around here with nothing to back it up, is his business.  If you can't grasp that, it's fine with me.

I've been posting here since February 1998.  During that period I have made in the neighborhood of one hundred thousand posts.  I have probably been involved in over 10,000 disagreements.  What could possibly give you the idea that I would leave this forum because you disagreed with me?  Man, that word bazaar keeps creaping back into the conversation.

Yea I think the tarrif reciprocity act would be fine - ie, if they took tarriffs to 0% we do too. If they raise them to 20% we do too. That would have some potential I think. Some people would crap their pants if that was enacted.
