Sarah Palins guest appearances this week in a 3-part series from Alaska with FOX News Channels Greta Van Susteren have hopefully opened some eyes regarding the 20-million-acre ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge), NPR-A (National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska), the North Slope, Prudhoe Bay and the entire issue of drilling for oil and natural gas in the Last Frontier.
The recent disastrous deep-water oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is all the more reason why we (the U.S.) should start looking back to on-shore drilling -- at all the reserves that are rich in oil and gas -- and start tapping into them again, Gov. Palin said in the national interview as she and husband Todd flew with the FOX-TV crew from the Arctic Circle at the northern tip of Alaska to the oil-pipeline terminus at the port of Valdez, 800 miles south.
Absolutely, it is safer to drill on land, she responded to a question from Van Susteren, and its more fruitful ..With the stroke of a pen, Congress and our President could allow more on-shore drilling in these proven reserves
You want a true stimulus for the economy? Drill in Alaska!
For those C4P readers who want to learn more about the vital oil/gas business and what Gov. Palin accomplished in a little over two years for Alaskas citizens by overcoming pressure from the Big Oil titans as well as her own elected government officials, check out a copy of Sarah Takes On Big Oil, by Kay Cashman and Kristen Nelson.

Her adversaries underestimate Sarah at their own risk.
Yeah, and they always have.
One thing sometimes that gets lost in discussions about Palin, is that she was a very capable administrator, both as mayor and governor. And popular to boot - very focussed on her constituents “....During her first year in office, Palin kept a jar with the names of Wasilla residents on her desk. Once a week, she pulled out a name, picked up the phone and asked: “How’s the city doing?”
And she took on the tough issues and worked through them eg, in her State of the State address on January 17, 2008, Palin declared that the people of Alaska “...can and must continue to develop our economy, because we cannot and must not rely so heavily on federal government funding.”
She was certainly doing things right: polls taken when she was governor in 2007 showed her with 93% and 89% popularity among all voters. She only just won the job as mayor the first time, but won about 75% in her re-election.
Add to the list that as governor, Palin slapped BP pretty hard over excessive safety violations. She knows where the bear “went”.
Greta V.S. (On the Record) is running this series on Alaska and she had an enviro-whacko Washington State Rep. on last night who spouted his three reasons not to drill on ANWAR. He talked incessantly (and repetitively I might add) effectively limiting any tough questions he might have to answer. Greta failed to control him at all.
The crux of his opposition to drilling is that there is not enough oil there to make a difference. Is that the new criterion for dropping a well, it’s got to be massive and earth-shaking? Economic output isn’t enough. If it’s not humongous, it just shouldn’t be attempted? If so, then ALL exploration would necessarily have to cease.
This is a typical case of creating a straw-man requirement and then basing recommended action on the false premise. It’s a typical enviro-whacko tactic that gets typical media traction.
Unheard of numbers for a politician anywhere. She's to good for only Alaska.
Reminds me of listening to Rush Limbaugh in 1987 as a local talk show host in Sacramento, CA. I told everyone who would listen the he is a goner. That is, going to leave Sacramento for a much larger market.
I didn't know about the syndication option.
((((((((Palin Ping)))))))))
Thanks for the ping.
Thanks for the link.
"...... But the fact that drilling won't solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all."
-- Sarah Palin, GOP convention VP acceptance speech
The TAP is currently running at half-capacity due to the declining output of Prudhoe Bay. Drilling on the barren plain of ANWR already set aside by Congress for that purpose and running a 100-mile pipeline to the existing infrastructure would double the throughput. It's nuts not to do that.
This article , or at least a link to it should be posted anywhere there is a lie or smear about her intelligence, her experience or her accomplishments. This is the stuff the hater-aid drinkers don’t want the average person to know.
Amen brother!
I see you read “Going Rogue” as well! It’s funny to me to hear some people say “oh, I’d have voted for McCain if he hadn’t picked that Palin as a running mate”. I had the opposite kind of feeling. I thought about sitting at home and not voting at all, but instead I voted for Sarah, not so much for McCain. And I KNOW that I’m not alone.
