Yeah, and they always have.
One thing sometimes that gets lost in discussions about Palin, is that she was a very capable administrator, both as mayor and governor. And popular to boot - very focussed on her constituents “....During her first year in office, Palin kept a jar with the names of Wasilla residents on her desk. Once a week, she pulled out a name, picked up the phone and asked: “How’s the city doing?”
And she took on the tough issues and worked through them eg, in her State of the State address on January 17, 2008, Palin declared that the people of Alaska “...can and must continue to develop our economy, because we cannot and must not rely so heavily on federal government funding.”
She was certainly doing things right: polls taken when she was governor in 2007 showed her with 93% and 89% popularity among all voters. She only just won the job as mayor the first time, but won about 75% in her re-election.
Add to the list that as governor, Palin slapped BP pretty hard over excessive safety violations. She knows where the bear “went”.
Unheard of numbers for a politician anywhere. She's to good for only Alaska.
Reminds me of listening to Rush Limbaugh in 1987 as a local talk show host in Sacramento, CA. I told everyone who would listen the he is a goner. That is, going to leave Sacramento for a much larger market.
I didn't know about the syndication option.
I see you read “Going Rogue” as well! It’s funny to me to hear some people say “oh, I’d have voted for McCain if he hadn’t picked that Palin as a running mate”. I had the opposite kind of feeling. I thought about sitting at home and not voting at all, but instead I voted for Sarah, not so much for McCain. And I KNOW that I’m not alone.
