To paraphrase Andrew Jackson, “the judge has made his decision, now let him enforce it.”

If more Americans took this approach, we’d see fewer losses of freedom. Al Pacino in “And Justice for All” said: “Contempt? I have nothing but contempt for this court.” Do’t we all?

Forbidden by whom? Do they own the book? Do they own the fire?

The bureaucrats and judges should be told to go screw.

“You stay out of this Glinda”

“Rubbish, you have no power here, now be gone before someone drops a house on you too.”

I’d gladly pay the penalty. “She’s a witch! Burn her!”

Just lay the damn book on the steps and let all the parishioners step on it as they come into the church!

All the cheerleaders of book-burning on this thread are in good company: Nazis, Communists did the same thing.

Yeh, let's burn books --- that'll show them what conservatism in America stands for! Back to the caves!

What American principles are you, supposed conservatives, are you trying to conserve when you advocate and cheer book-burning?

Sprinkle them with holy water. They’ll burst into flames automatically.

I hate to be the party pooper here, but exactly what does burning the Koran have to do with the Order of Worship in a Christian church? Is this something that we do before the congregational prayer or before the sermon? Does this come after the Eucharist or in place of it?

Heck, I'm amazed that the Church's Insurance Underwriter hasn't called in a panic demanding to know what in heck the Church leadership is thinking.

prohibits burning book in public

Make it a private service just for members and friends.

A concern that I’m surprised hasn’t been raised in this thread is the potential problems this will cause for Christian missionaries who have been called to witness to Muslims.

In my view, said missionaries already have enough roadblocks in their path that render witnessing to Muslims difficult; a church sponsporing a Quaran book-burning will only harden hearts, not win them for Christianity.

The pastor of this church is in the wrong, on this issue.

Other than the obvious comparisons between this nutjob’s antics and the Ground Zero Mosque (both are Constitutionally protected, but still morally wrong and socially destructive), even an Islamic child knows that any translation of the Koran is not the word of God (as these savages understand it), but a translator’s interpretation of the so-called word.

In other words, the Pastor is not actually burning Korans at all. Still, the intent is to disrespact one billion people who are insecure about the fact that the rest of the world does not take them as seriously as the feel they deserve.

the USSC already ruled on this.

it is the famous case where a hippie wore a jacket with “f___ the Draft” on the back.

A municipal ordinance can not ban political speech.

Just burn one at a time inside a barbeque.

I'm sure this is going to endure us with all the Iraqi citizens who still view us with suspicion as well as all domestic peaceful muslims.

Since it's a First Amendment right then why does everyone here condemn Rev. Phelps and the Westboro Baptist church for their right to protest?

This Koran burning event serves no purpose whatsoever other than to inflame "ALL" Muslims and General Petraeus is right on the money when he warns that such an action will likely cause a backlash against American troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Go figure, Gen. Petraeus has been the darling of all FR but now that he warns against the burning of the Korans he now is being ridiculed............
