The number of Americans who believe -- wrongly -- that President Obama is a Muslim has increased significantly since his inauguration and now account for nearly 20 percent of the nation's population.
Those results, from a new Pew Research Center survey, were drawn from interviews done before the president's comments about the construction of an Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero, and they suggest that there could be serious political danger for the White House as the debate continues.
The president's religion, like his place of birth, has been the subject of Internet-spread rumors and falsehoods since before he began his presidential campaign, and the poll indicates that those rumors have gained currency since Obama took office. The number of people who now correctly identify Obama as a Christian has dropped to 34 percent, down from nearly half when he took office.
White House officials expressed dismay over the poll results. Faith adviser Joshua DuBois blamed "misinformation campaigns" by the president's opponents.
"While the president has been diligent and personally committed to his own Christian faith, there's certainly folks who are intent on spreading falsehoods about the president and his values and beliefs," DuBois said.

No one needs to spead anything about Obama’s faith. He is doing a good job of revealing his true faith on a daily basis - AND - it’s certainly not a Christian faith!!!!

Absolutely zero, as far as I have seen in any of the news sources since I first heard of this guy.
No evidence that he was ever a Christian. No evidence that he ever was baptized.
He has said that he was “never” a Muslim. Well, that is a flat out lie, since he was a Muslim from the time of his birth at least until the time he left Indonesia. Liar.
He observes and celebrates Ramadan, but he ignores Christmas and Easter and never goes to church.
So, on what do we base this word “wrongly”? Apparently on nothing but blind ideological faith.

This is a perfect example of the kind of writing that would have gotten any decent reporter fired back when newspapers took their objectivity seriously.
It would have actually been a semi-decent news lead if they had not stuck the word “wrongly” into the middle of it. That is classic editorializing, and it is also the reason that so many people are turned off by the MSM these days.

very well put WIR. a man’s/women’s faith, or ‘core’ belief, as you state, should never have had to be ‘corrected’ like steffy did to muslim boy in this interview. of course, as we know, our/the state run pravda media made darn sure this was sunk low...at that time. the fact that this video is still ‘up’ in various places just shows how confident the powers that be are in their feelings and that they still feel that they are untouchable and that the 50-70 mill. sheeople are still lapping up the crap. pray for our nation huh? we have never been on the edge as we are now.
Obama’s not a muslim. He’s a marxist hippie Unitarian just like his marxist hippie b*tch of a mother with a tinge of Farrakhan-style black liberation theology thrown in the mix, and the two along with his father’s muslim faith combine jointly in him to produce an inordinate degree of fondness for islam out of a wrongheaded belief that muslims, and more generally all “brown people,” are the perpetual “victims” of the evil white anglo saxon protestant west.
In other words, he is far far far more insidious than he would be if he were simply a muslim.
