KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- "Conversations with Kay" quickly turned into "Confrontation With Kay" when Sen. Kay Hagan visited the Kernersville Senior Enrichment Center.
Hagan has been hosting "Conversations with Kay" across the state of North Carolina, meeting with constituents about their concerns and having her staff on hand to assist people who need help with federal agencies such as the IRS or Veterans Affairs.
Health care became the hot topic during Wednesday morning's event when one mother sounded off about her children's health care needs. "My children will suffer because of this health care bill," the concerned woman loudly told Hagan . The woman said she's raising two chronically ill children who have been under anesthesia 50 times in the last 14 years.

THat has been going on for years with the Pell grants.I know a woman who got 3 of them and never went to a single day of school nor had to pay anything back. Really makes you angry to know that they use them like that.
We are petrified with the limits with me being a 40 year type 1 diabetic.Just replacing my insulin pump will take 1/2 or more of the alloted amount per family per year.I hop they will still allow me to have the insulin too to go with it because that is about another $4K a year and that isn’t even considering my hubby my need somethign too.
If a person accepts something like that, and then does something with the money other than the agreed upon purpose, they should be facing jail time.
IIRC the family limit in the healthcare billis $12K.
I agree with you but that is not the way it is.They pay them directly to the person instead of paying it to the school.
That sounds like the max they would be responsible for not what is covered to me.
I was listening to a guy on the radio yesterday talking about all these cushy government pension plans that have been promised. There's going to be a serious breaking down in this country and it isn't going to be pretty. I don't know when it's going to come, but I don't see how all this can continue ad infinitum.
There will also be far fewer chronically ill elderly people under Obamacare. The rationing is already beginning under Medicare. My father-in-law’s oncologist has advised him the expensive drug he is receiving for colon cancer will no longer be paid for by Medicare.
Hagan is office thanks to Liddy the carpetbagger Dole, married to RINO Bob Dole. Liddy couldn’t be bothered to leave her Watergate apartment in DC to occasionally visit the state she was elected to represent. The people paid her back by booting her out but unfortunately put Chuck Shumer’s stooge Kay Hagen in place. Kay has voted the Dem party line consistently since being elected.
What is wrong with the NC Republican party? They can’t seem to find a decent conservative who resides in the state and has rudimentary communication skills to run for either governor or the US Senate. Burr is a clone of George Bush.
Interesting that WXII doesn't bother to point this out in the article.
"I am glad your that children live in our country," Hagan calmly responded. That last paragraph is a real vote getter."I don't want free health care. Because I will sell everything I own to pay for my children because this is America." the concerned parent said.
"But there are so many people that don't have the ability," Hagan replied.
The four-minute confrontation ended when Hagan stopped acknowledging the woman and turned to another person attending the event to address that person's concerns.
