Regardless of our opposition to the construction of this mosque, perhaps we should face the reality that it will be built... but, that’s where our real opposition should commence. We, the opposition, understand that the Islamic types are calling it the Cordoba Mosque. Well, let’s come up with our own name for the mosque, something appropriate and consistent with our beliefs and passion. We can call it any darn thing we want, but what we call it should always conjure up the death and destruction of 9/11. There are a lot of creative folks out there, so go for it. Let’s light a fire with our passion and embrace our own name for this obviously offensive piece of architecture!
Not planned, but just an example of how out of touch he and his staff are. They truly believe that America supports him and his stance. They are in for a crude awakening in November.
I don't think he planned it. Obama made his first comments at a Ramadan meal attended by many hard core Islamists. As he has done many times in the past he wanted to show he was on their side - thus the comments supporting the victory mosque. He figured the media would protect him by not reporting it, like they usually do. He didn't anticipate the firestorm he would create and now he's dancing like crazy trying to deal with the fallout.
“The question is WHY?”
Maybe he wants to say his prayers facing toward Ground Zero.
