Former governor Rod Blagojevich was found guilty on only one of 24 counts against him. The jury appears hung on the others.
The guilty verdict was on Count 24: providing false statements to officers. After the reading, the jury was thanked and asked to return to the jury room.
*snip*
Before the verdict was read, Judge Zagel said that there may not be verdicts in all 24 counts with which Blagojevich is charged -- and that any counts dealing with forfeiture will be dealt with on Wednesday morning.

Thanks Fitz you just handed Bill Brady a landslide victory!
CBS 2 interviewed some political reporter who said this is a nightmare for the democrats!
Get this, the STATE pays for the defense attorney on a mistrial. We are bankrupt! We have about 5 murders a day in Chicago, and the government is going to waste their time persecuting Blago!
I never EVER thought I'd see the day where I supported Rod Blagojavech!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
FITZ GOES DOWN!
FITZ GOES DOWN!

Holy God this guy Sam Adams Sr. is going off on Fitzgerald talking about Scooter Libby!!! I am telling you guys, Blago is going to go straight after the Chicago machine!
Defense attorney: Fitz is going nuts ... just ask Scooter.

Bump to #73

This lawyer is my new hero!
Sam Adams Sr. says “Tony Rezko—who is he?” LOL
Fitzgerald & his staff should be arrested for fraudulent use of taxpayer dollars.
Reporter: Would you call Tony Rezko (in retrial or a do-over)?
Adams, Sr.? Who is Tony Rezko?
LOL!
If i were on the jury I would have not voted to convict him of lying to a Federal agent.
I would have objected to the legitimacy of that charge due to the fact that under the 1st amendment that CANNOT be judged as a real Federal crime and therefore despite the fact that he may have lied to them he can’t be convicted of a non-crime.
The rest of the charges i probably would have declared as unlawful on the grounds of lack of Federal jurisdiction.
Blagojevich like it or not was already convicted by his crimes by his Lawful judge the State legislator who impeached him, removing him from office because of those crimes against the people of Illinois.
I do not and will not beleive that Blagojevich is guilty of any crimes against the people of the United States for the simple fact that A U.S. Senator may serve in the Federal senate but he or she is still nonetheless subject to the state from which he or she came.
To say its a crime against the United states is like saying because someone stole something from your neighbor and was already delt with for that crime they are also guilty of a crime against you even thou they stole nothing from you and injured you not.
It’s abusive, redundant, ridicules, costly(to us), and goes against the very critical separation of ownership which is critical to Federalism.
So yes I agree he was guilty of all that he was accused of i just don’t agree that they were federal crimes triable by a Federal court, and not already tried by State court.
I furthermore find the idea of a federal court having the ability to disregard a Jury verdict they don’t like by simply declaring a mistrial to be disgustingly inconsistent with the Constitutional right to trial by jury, as well as the right not to be twine put in jeopardy of life and limb for the same “crime”.
Fitzgerald and his other thug federal persecutor underlings are criminal frauds, and should be prosecuted under RICO.
List of jurors released ... all but one (Chicagoan) from the suburbs.
