Greta should stick to interviewing Gov. Brewer.

Her work on bringing attention to the illegal alien fight has been great.

NAACP President Benjamin Jealous said that his organization and 200 other groups are planning a rally on Oct. 2 in the District "to pull America back together and put America back to work.

Doing what? Cleaning up the mess?

Other organizations are staging “counter-events” on the Mall Aug. 28, including a grass-roots network of artists, community organizers and social activists calling themselves “Celebrate the Dream,”

I look forward to seeing all 8 or 9 of them in the see of conservatives.

So they're marching against Glenn Beck and not for MLK?

A great American once said, "Can't we all just get along?"

"It is very important we convey a positive message that America belongs to everyone," he said. "Our rally is not an 'us against them.' We want no confrontation with Glenn Beck. But we want a confrontation with the ideas he espouses. His ideas seem to be ideas of intolerance."

Really? Then Mr. Morial, why all the whining? Since when does the "civil rights movement" have the right to appropriate the Lincoln Memorial and yet another date on the calendar? You already have MLK's birthday as a national holiday.

“including a grass-roots network of artists, community organizers and social activists calling themselves “Celebrate the Dream,”

...they should call themselves, “Celebrating Getting Out of Bed and Leaving My Mom’s Basement”.

LOL! You had best vote out Obama first.

Anyone organizing a counter-march is just going to embarrass himself.

There will be too many people there, who are too decent, that any counter-march will fall flat. A couple hundred screamers alongside a million and a half middle-Americans smiling, laughing, and enjoying themselves, will paint an indelible picture.

I hope they have a million man march next to Beck’s, but we all know that will only be 57 people.

Now on the series side, Beck should turn this in to an open carry march....just saying.

Will there be unity in DC on that day? I believe the love of God will bring all those marches together in Praise.

The white house may be divisive, but according to MLK and as is stated on the memorial being unveiled that day, “Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

If Beck and Palin come in the Spirit, the Spirit will prevail, and all of God’s children will hear His voice and sing in unison.

Pray for the unity of the true church to the glory of the One True God. :)

On that day we will reflect Dr. King's true legacy and his determination to eliminate poverty, racism and hatred in all forms.

Whatever you think of MLK, the idea that he could in essence reverse human nature is naivety in it's most ridiculous extreme. MLK was an economic ignoramus. He didn't have a clue in how to go about eliminating poverty since he knew absolutely nothing about how to go about creating wealth. That's the main problem with wealth redistributionists. They know nothing about how to create the wealth they plan on redistributing. This is in essence the problem all over the world.

Poverty (as we know it) is the natural condition of mankind. No one was more poor than the original cavemen. It's only relatively recently that just a handful of people in a relatively small area of the globe have been able to emerge from poverty. This is primarily due to those people who are freed up from the shackles of government and have maximum freedom and an ability to keep the majority of the wealth they produce. MLK and Obama were and are clueless about this.

the fast search I did only turned up a rally on 8/28/99 of 300 people, and that the KKK cancelled their proposed rally in opposition.

Do they regularly have a rally there on that day? So how did Glen get the day? think they forgot? Now its a big deal!

MLK’s neice will be attending the rally - wonder if they will call her names?

In DC the NAACP and other lefty outfits have a big advantage in getting bodies to their demonstrations. I don't see theirs as being more than astroturf.

One way you can tell who has a big interest in the issue is in the signs. I bet the NAACP shows up with a lot of professionally printed signs instead of individually made signs,

The Lincoln Memorial and mall is not “hallowed ground.” It is not set aside to remember the dead; it is used by generation after generation to celebrate new beginnings and express hope for new beginnings.

Nobody owns the Washington Mall. This is just another case of left-leaning people acting like totalitarians.
