GOP with historic lead in generic congressional ballot

Rick Moran

More than anything, I think this shows that voters are simply giving up on Obama and his agenda. They don't think he has a clue about how to get the economy moving again and create some jobs. As Allah points out , they don't seem to like the GOP any better than the Democrats, but the toxicity of Obama is dragging the Democrats to utter destruction:

The most amazing thing about this? When Democrats tell people that voters hate the GOP as much as they hate them, they're not blowing smoke. That's basically true. In fact, in many polls, the Republican Party's favorables are still lower than the Democrats'. And even so: Biggest generic ballot lead ... in history. That's how popular Hopenchange is.

The flip side of that calculus, of course: Imagine what the lead would be like if people liked the GOP.

just sitting back and riding hate for the Democrats to victory, what could be a 40 seat swing might balloon into something much higher.

The RATS do not want a healthy America or a healthy voter, bet on it. Soon as the election’s over they’ll start talking socialism, big gov’t, queers etc. and Communism again.

So throw the screws to everyone, let them lose their houses and their jobs, drive our economy into the ground and we turn into a 3rd world country.
That’s the spirit!

“See how it’s played?”

Now you’re backpedaling. One minute it’s “The 2010 election.” Now it’s, “well of course Republicans must do something before then.”

“Send a healthcare repeal bill to Obama OVER AND OVER... and a across the board tax cut to him OVER AND OVER... and a million other conservative things that we all know he will never sign. No compromise should be given, make him veto over and over and over conservative legislation, that way they look like they are TRYING to do something, it’s just that mean ole socialist Obama that is causing the gridlock, and if only we could replace him in 2012... all these things could be passed.”

This must be part of the attack NOW! As we elect and take control of both the House and Senate NOW, rather than adopt your strategy and place all our chips on the 2010 elections.

Beckel was blackmailed by a prostitute, then claimed to be “born again”. He’s not telling everybody what a “Christian” he is anymore, but he’s been a drunken bully for as long as I’ve seen him on TV. He makes a living being a loyal RAT functionary and apologist.

I never underestimate the corruption of RINO’s, which is why we must attack this animal and support true conservatives.

The business of politics is a nasty one. Everyone’s hands get dirty. sometimes our choices are to pick the lesser of two evils. Was Bush a true Conservative? No, but he was a far better choice than the alternatives.

Me must highlight and support true conservative leaders.

I am not backpedaling at all.

There is nothing the Republicans can do now since they have no power to put anything to a vote.

After they win in November... they STILL wont actually be able to do anything conservatives want like “repeal healthcare” because Obama will just veto it. Deadlock is the best we can hope for until 2012.

With that being said, the WORST thing we could do is work WITH Obama to pass legislation that will get the economy back on track without advancing conservative principles. For instance extending the middle class tax cuts while letting the Bush tax cuts for the rich expire. Fixing the healthcare bill instead of pushing to repeal it in it's entirety, ect.

Democrats 2006- vote for us, we're not Republicans

Republican 2010 - vote for us, we're not Democrats

Democrats 2012 - vote for us, we're not Republicans

Republicans 2014 - vote for us, we're not Democrats

I am not advocating purposely losing any particular, all I am saying is I wont be crying in my bear if the Republicans don't take back both the House and the Senate. I would be perfectly fine with retaking the House and coming within 1 or 2 of retaking the Senate to achieve complete gridlock.

Here is the real problem:

Republicans win in 1994 Socialism advances slowly

Democrats win in 2006 Socialism advances quickly.

Republicans win in 2010 Socialism advances slowly.

Democrats win in 2012 Socialism advances quickly.

The problem is... no matter which party wins... socialism always advances, it's just a matter of how fast it advances. You have to go all the way back to the 80’s to find a time period when Socialism actually retreated a bit.

I want Obama to be beaten in 2012, and if America has to burn in the meantime so be it.

Oh yeah, that'll teach 'em alright. You sound like Major Booris of Tet Offensive fame during the Vietnam War who said "We had to destroy Ben Tre in order to save it."

Add to that you sound like idiots who allegedly were on our side back in 2008 who applauded the arrival of Obama, because that was what supposedly America would need to rout the Dems.

What in America has to burn to satisfy you, and how many innocents must fall as a consequence? Are you looking forward to something nuclear, or will you be content to just singe your own nether-hairs with the stench of such remarks?

Is the town you're content to let burn today the same home you are content to live in tomorrow? For you its all to hell with the future and a world of safety and prosperity for our kids just so you can crawl through the ashes that are left, and just to be able to say: "see I told you so."

One is not surprised that poster "This just in" nailed you on your obvious attempt to "backpedal."

Have a happy little Armageddon in your own little mind, and the rest of us will just do all the real work to win this thing with as little collateral damage as possible.

“I am not backpedaling at all.”

Yes you are. You said:

“I don’t want the GOP to do anything to help the economy.”

“I want Obama to be beaten in 2012, and if America has to burn in the meantime so be it.”

These are your words on this thread, and now you’re changing your tune.

“With that being said, the WORST thing we could do is work WITH Obama to pass legislation that will get the economy back on track without advancing conservative principles. For instance extending the middle class tax cuts while letting the Bush tax cuts for the rich expire. Fixing the healthcare bill instead of pushing to repeal it in it’s entirety, ect.”

The picture is becoming clearer to me. You sound like a troll.

“There is nothing the Republicans can do now since they have no power to put anything to a vote.”

There is a lot Republicans can do despite that fact that they do not control the House or Senate. They can fight Obama’s agenda strategically by fighting his policy and highlighting the failings and unconstitutional legalities of this administrations policies. There are a number of ways in which Republicans can continue to fight.

“....Bush tax cuts for the rich expire. Fixing the healthcare bill instead of pushing to repeal it in it’s entirety, ect.”

Sounds like Troll-speak to me. You seem to forget that it is the rich whom employed and provide jobs. When’s the last time you saw a street bum or a welfare leech create jobs and pass out paychecks?

Fix the healthcare bill? Fix? Obama’s healthcare bill? That bill alone will turn the medical profession as well as health insurance on its head.

I now see where you’re standing, and the motive for you comments are crystal clear.

lol

I wouldn't exactly call 10% unemployment “Armageddon” and since I know that most of those that have lost their jobs are Obama voters .... I have little to no sympathy for them, they are getting what they deserve.

And I feel pretty confident that America can survive legislative gridlock for the next two years with unemployment stuck around 10% ... which is all it will take to sweep Obama from office.

The burn comment was just a figure of speech by the way.

I just don't want the incoming Republicans to bail out Obama and save his butt in 2012.

what are you talking about?

It is like we are speaking different languages.

Let me be C L E A R..

I think it would be a mistake for the Republicans (if they retake control of congress) to work with Obama. The following things would be BAD for them to do:

1. Give in to Obama on tax cuts by extending the middle class portion of the Bush tax cuts while letting the tax cuts for the rich expire next year (tax hike on those earning more than $250,000)

2. Cherry pick only the most universally hated parts of the healthcare bill and only try and repeal those specific parts of the healthcare disaster(assuming Obama wouldn't veto any changes).

“I don’t want the GOP to do anything to help the economy.”

“I want Obama to be beaten in 2012, and if America has to burn in the meantime so be it.”

“If Republicans regain control and manage to fix things... Obama will claim all the credit and we will be stuck with him for another 4 years and by then it will be too late to repeal healthcare. Our ONE chance to repeal it comes in 2012 assuming our candidate runs strongly on repeal if elected.
9 posted on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 11:59:47 AM by TexasFreeper2009”

“well... if you want a Republican to actually deal with China or NoKo in 2012 then you had better start hoping things stay in the crapper.”

“Because if Republicans retake both houses and turn things around... Obama will claim the credit, just like Clinton did when the Republicans bailed his failed presidency out.”

“Imagine this... Republicans retake both chambers of congress... start fixing things ... Obama take credit for the turn around then drops Biden and takes on Hillary for his re-election drive... he wins because the economy is looking better and we are not only stuck with him for another 4 years... but then Hillary is then set up for the next 8.... I don’t know about you, but that’s a risk I am not willing to take. I say let the Obama voters stay unemployed for the next two years and lets drive the Kenyan out of the US come 2012!
14 posted on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 12:16:18 PM by TexasFreeper2009”

ALL of these comments are from your mouth. And now you’re trying to pull the “The burn comment was just a figure of speech by the way.”

Figure of speech my eye. Your words can and will be used against you, especially when you try to deny you own sentiments.
