Glenn Beck – material boy
WorldNetDaily ^ | Aug 17 2010 | Joseph Farah

Posted on 08/17/2010 10:06:19 AM PDT by Rashputin

Glenn Beck may hate socialism and communism, but he showed he shares a materialistic worldview with Marx, Engels and Saul Alinksy in a recent conversation with Bill O'Reilly.

Interesting take on Beck and interesting comments by Beck considering that he ignores a lot of what Jefferson thought in order to pick a single applicable qoute.

O’Reilly: “Do you believe that gay marriage is a threat to the country in any way?”

“There you have it. Beck doesn't care about one of the most blatant and despicable examples of judicial tyranny in the history of our country.”

You, sir, are an idiot. Had O’reilly asked him about the case, I'm quite sure the answer would have been different. However, he did not.
He asked him if he thought gay marriage would harm the country. Beck gave his honest opinion.

Show me in the article, related to the question, that Beck does not see this as a blatant assault on the judiciary of this country. I dare you.

Maybe Beck is just in conflict with his inner rodeo clown.

I admire a lot of what Beck is doing, but this article teaches us to be discerning. At times Beck can have an easy flippancy to what he says, and speak incorrectly and out of context.

I will trust my own opinion of Beck much more than anything WND has to say.

Absolutely right.
And the unfortunate thing is that nobody can see
the ‘issue’ objectively because it’s already evolved
beyond the issue and into judicial activism, which is
the partisan playing field we’re all invited to suit up for. Some might argue, of course, that where it
is NOW, in this polarized situation, is exactly where it should be. There’s no putting the toothpaste back into the tube, I guess.

O'Reilly: "No, OK. Is it going to harm the country?" Beck: "I believe that Thomas Jefferson said: 'If it neither breaks my leg nor picks my pocket what difference is it to me?'"

Jefferson also thought sodomites should be killed.

I used to love Beck's radio show, the more I read about his TV show the more I believe he is a phony. When did he change and why has this happened?

WND makes debka look credible.
Read the whole interview and see if it jives with hacks at WND.

I am going to the 8/28 rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial. I hope everyone who loves this country and the constitution will go.

Increasingly, "conservatives" see themselves living in an exclusively material world with no immutable laws and no absolute morality other than the superiority of the free market.

Same thing with Rush Limbaugh.

It wasn't economic freedom that made America great, it was freedom of religion.

I caught that on tv. My opinion is that GB got suckered in by BOR who sees himself as Field Marshal and Generalissimo of the Armies in his own little Kulturkampf and is insanely envious of GB. BOR cares not a whit about the progressives setting the country up for collapse and dictatorship as long as they don’t legalize drugs and gay marriage. What a maroon.

WND is an excellent conservative site.

That you have a different opinion on this topic reflects badly on you, not WND.

He isn’t a phony.

He simply could not be more honest if he tried.

I don’t mean any personal offense to you by saying this, but an honest person can easily recognize another honest person. Glenn Beck wears his heart and his soul on his sleeve for anyone to see, so long as they are first willing to look.

Beck is a libertarian, not a republican, so of course, some of his positions may not be what some conservatives would agree with.

I agree! But I think you and I are not in the majority of what defines "conservatives" today.

True, and that's the reason "conservatives" can't inspire voters now days.

Good grief. There is a significant difference between being a materialist, and dialectical materialism. A HUGE difference.
