ST. PAUL, Minn. A new TV ad from the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org goes after Target Corp. for making a political campaign donation in Minnesota. MoveOn.org spokeswoman Ilyse Hogue said Tuesday that the group will spend $35,000 to air the ad for a week on three networks in Minnesota and on the MSNBC cable channel nationally.

So when will the companies who donate to liberals apologize?
Target is part of the Dayton-Hudson corporation. They already donated a dweeb named Mark Dayton to the liberal/homosexual side. They have yet to apologize for said donation.
Target made the decision to donate as a means of supporting a candidate who it felt would best better its business environment in the next four years in order to increase profits, and benefit its shareholders. Target had to have known that the overall benefits of supporting Emmer might be offset with some loss of business by customers who were opposed to it. But there should have been no reason to apologize for this.
Meanwhile, unions get to endorse candidates without blame, and funnel millions of dollars to the Dems (and get endless bailouts in return), and this is never questioned. And Hollywood Libs donate millions without any fear of people not going to see their films anymore. Maybe it’s time that that changes...
Gays have been targeting Target for over ten years. Awhile back, the gay lobby succeeded in getting Target to disallow the Salvation Army from putting a Santa outside its stores in the Christmas season.
Isn’t Target the retailer that wouldn’t allow the Salvation Army to set up the red kettle collections in front of their stores a couple Christmases ago?
I don’t live in Venezuela or Iraq, but I suspect this is how the Dear Leaders in both places got 98% of the vote.
Fear and threats. Next step is massive protests in front of Target stores.
This technique was used against savings and loan companies as ACORN was forcing them to commit to bad mortgages, with help from Fannie Mae, Frank, and Community Reinvestment Act.
How dare a private company support anyone who opposes the reasonable, logical candidates, the ONLY candidates who are truly qualified and for the little guys.
My daily visited, 3 min. away Target has had bazillions of shoppers lately.
School is one reason. But this is really nore than usual.
It’s nice to go to a store that doesn’t have weirdos prancing around
like Walmart.
Are you referring to the Salvation Army bell-ringers? If so, you might give some thought to the fact that the SA has been one of the world's most reliable charities since its founding in 1865. It is one of the world's largest organizations that provides aid to people in disasters, and was at the forefront of Hurricane Katrina and Haiti relief. Those dimes and dollars people drop in the Salvation Army buckets in commemoration of Christ's birth do a lot of good for a lot of people.
According to Wikipedia,
The Salvation Army is one of the world's largest providers of social aid, with expenditures including operating costs of $2.6 billion in 2004, helping more than 32 million people in the U.S. alone. In addition to community centres and disaster relief, the organization does work in refugee camps, especially among displaced people in Africa. The Salvation Army has received an A- rating from the American Institute of Philanthropy. In the United Kingdom, The Salvation Army is the largest non-governmental provider of social services. The Salvation Army is the second largest charity in the United States, with private donations of almost $2 billion for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2007.
In closing, I would like to point out here on this conservative Forum that the main objections to the Salvation Army are its nature as a Christian organization giving charity out of its calling to duty rather than coerced by socialist government, and its opposition to hiring homosexuals.
Weirdos?
Sorry, I wasn’t replying to you. I meant that statement for Paulio, the poster.
I should have made myself clearer.
I wasn’t referring to the Salvation Army. I am well aware (being 70 yrs old) of the Salvation Army and what they do. But you did go to a lot of trouble informing me. Thanks
BTW Have you been to any Walmarts lately? Inside, that is.
I apologize for misconstruing your meaning. Best FReegards!
:< ) That’s quite alright.
A good lesson for me to remember...be clearer.
