Was Dem Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy member of Marxist organization?

Evidence has emerged that in the early 1990s, Mary Jo Kilroy, then an Ohio lawyer and activist, was a member of the U.S.’s largest Marxist-based organization, Democratic Socialists of America (D.S.A.).

Furthermore, while running as a Democrat, Mary Jo Kilroy was backed by her D.S.A. comrades in her both unsuccessful (2006) and successful (2008) races for U.S. congress.

Wasn’t Obama a member of a DSA ‘off-shoot’ party in Chicago when he first ran for state office?

Actually, this one was reasonably well documented (not mentioned in the MSM, of course) before the New Party's (I knew I'd remember the name of the off-shoot paty sooner or later) web-site was scrubbed of all references to Obama.

You have a good memory. Obama file 22 Barack Obama, Danny K Davis and the Marxist New Party -- When Barack Obama successfully ran for the Illinois State Senate in 1996 on the Democratic Party ticket, he was endorsed by two interrelated organisations, Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the Chicago branch of the New Party.

I believe Nancy Pelosi was the president of the California chapter of the Democratic Socialists many years ago. They eventually changed its name in order to become more politically mainstream; but it is still the same group. Research should be done into this.
