A federal judge has ruled Missouri's ban restricting protests at funerals to be unconstitutional. Monday's ruling affects restrictions targeting a Kansas church whose members have picketed outside the funerals of people killed during the Iraq war. A church leader filed a lawsuit challenging the law. Missouri's law bars protests near any funeral, procession or memorial service from an hour before until an hour after the service.

Last I heard, disturbing the peace was not a violation of the 1st Amendment.

Last I also heard, private funerals are just that - private (and paid for).

The only thing a ban on protesting an hour before and an hour after a funeral violates, is the ability to rape people while they are grieving.

I don’t get it. Are not funeral homes, churches and cemeterys private property?

Why not organize a 24/7 protest against “Rev whatshisname” and his creepy “church?” I’m confident some federal judge will find it to be constitutional.

Or—go to the services and funerals of his congregation and shout what creeps they are during their services. Turnabout is fair play.

These people are unbelievable cowards. They say they are protesting homosexuality but they avoid homosexuals and instead “protest” at a funeral where nobody there is supporting homosexuality and nobody there is in any kind of mood to do what should be done, smack them up side the head. Hard.
