Progressive ignore the Constitution when it goes against their agenda, but they have no problem quoting it when it is to their advantage.
Apparently not. To liberals, the entirety of the Constitution is in the preamble: "promote the general welfare." After that they lose interest.
This congress has made it clear that silly words on an old parchment hold no sway over their power-lust.
Of course, if they are too stupid to read the USC, no way does the Bill Of Rights (especially the 9th and 10th Amendments) have any meaning to them.
I clearly remember Obama calling The Constitution a “Flawed Document”(during the 2008 campaign). He said it was “Flawed”because it put too many restraints on what the government could”DO” to the People! Not his “Exact Words”,but his “Exact Meaning”!!
Constitution??
To quote our esteemed Madam Speaker (yes, I gagged a little, typing that) — “You have got to be kidding!!”
Yes, that “welfare” sstatement includes food stamps, Medicare, Medicaid, loans, mortgages, car makers, banks any kind of social service you can imagine and more! It is totally perverted. Liberals have a nasty habit of redefining words to suit their spending sprees.
We need one of these articles EVERYDAY. What I would have liked is more specificity, instead of just saying some augmentations to immigration laws can bypass Congress. This way we learn and when we get into argument, we can site specific cases to people.
Second, in no way can Mr. Sowell be completely honest and not find flaws with numerous Executive Orders and dozens of features of Patriot Bill just as offensive.
Unless, Patriots BLIND themselves to Party-Orientation, and simply call it as they see it, they would continue to find themselves in hypocritical situations, and thus won’t be effective.
It is true that when a leader who shares ones political leanings, engages in power-grabbing on behalf of elites, one can tend to believe him and fool oneself in reasoning, everything is well intentioned and for Patriotic reasons alone.
It is easy to get caught up in staged gladitorial event, between left-puppets and right-puppets. Need to fight power-grab from either side.
The 14th Amendment reversed the entire intent and meaning of the original Constitution in one fell swoop - like in the game Reversi, where a line of white disks is suddenly flipped to black.
In the case of the Constitution, “natural persons” became “corporate individuals” - game over.
When the Income tax was added to the Constitution it essentially voided most of the rest of it. Everything anybody earned was now the Governments by right. Your own efforts were only yours to keep by grace of the elites. The amazing thing is that the country has lasted as long as it has with such a cancerous anti-freedom amendment tacked onto it. Only a new amendment forcing a balanced budget that places limits on the 16th can save the country now.
Did she really say that? It doesn’t surprise me if she did
I can't wait for our new crop of aristos to discover the fate of the arrogant throughout history. I wonder if Michelle O. will have the grace to apologize when she steps on the man's toe...
The Constitution is only a barrier until they pack the courts.
It's living and breathing after all. /s
>> Obama has found a way to circumvent the Constitution. He appoints czars.
And the GOP is completely hush about it. So, the GOP is not without fault.
AKA "vote-buying sprees." They don't want to do good, they just want to stay in power. The one thing we have learned time and time again is that "liberals" don't have principles, just agendas.
As it was intended to be when written by the brilliant founders.....
” Did she really say that? “
Yep - she said it at a press conference (just before the vote on Obamacare, if memory serves), when asked about the “Constitutional basis” for some aspects of the pending Health Care legislation....
“You have got to be kidding!!” was the totality of her answer, before going on to the next softball question....
A good President could reverse a lot of it in ten minutes.
