This past month millions of Americans got notice from Blue Cross/Blue Shield providers across the country that their insurance premiums were going way up effective immediately. Here is the terse reason CareFirst/ Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Washington gave its subscribers for raising a monthly premium from $333 to $512 on a middle aged man who is healthy, is not a smoker and is not obese: "Your new rate reflects the overall rise in health care costs and we regret having to pass these additional costs on to you."
Recently, Fox News anchor Bill O'Reilly also received a similar notice from his health care provider, (Anthem Blue Cross), and was told that his annual premium will increase by $2,100.
The excuse given was the same boilerplate as set forth above.
An 85-year-old New Yorker received notice from his health care provider, (Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield), wherein he was notified that:
1. His Medicare deductible is being increased from $1,068 to $1,100;

The doctors and medical providers are after their anticipated very last gasp for a profit. They see no future so they want to get as much today as they can — period.
If you take Obamacare off the table and get rid of all that’s been done this year, I bet you’ll see prices come down for years.
Well I've been buying health insurance policies for my family for at least 30 years now and I have to say I've never seen them go up that steeply.

First off, there is no accounting for age, sex or muscle density and health…a 6’2” male, weighing 200lbs is considered overweight no matter what? If this is the case those working for government should be fired for not meeting their own supposed health standards; especially elected officials!
Obama and the Democrats will have a field day excoriating the insurance companies but in reality, their demise is exactly what the Democrats want so the government can step in and 'rescue' us by becoming the sole medical insurer in the country. Then, we'll have to dance to their tune, including rationing of medical services, especially for the elderly. This is what ObamaCare has wrought.

Mine doubled since 2008. DOUBLED in premiums AND increased copays AND cut back some benefits to keep it “affordable.”
But after going to a doctor’s office for a small thing and seeing truly obese people waiting in line I guessed why. Some people live in those offices, instead of taking a long walk every once n’while they go to a specialist every week to deal with the consequences.
Sounds like your employer gives you crappy insurance. As for fat people, they now say health care is a right and it’s also a right that you pay for them and everyone else and that DID happen even more so after Obama was elected.
Choose life. Repeal ObamaCare.

The exact same blanket calculations in the Arkansas charts used in public schools for "notifying" parents of their children's obesity - that has angered a bunch of parents (thank you Huckabee...).
Students, particularly in the middle-school age bracket, who were athletic, active and very healthy boys were being labeled as "obese" or "in danger of obesity"... thought their real BMI was actually much lower than average. It penalizes muscle mass.
can they please be fair and only raise premiums for liberals?
that said, I do hope with all my heart that all lib wackos who endorsed and rallied for this devil monstrousity suffer great personal hardship because of it. They reap what they sow.
hehehe, our homeowners policy just jumped due to ‘inflation’...wonder if they also do health as well...
