OAXACA, Mexico Unidentified gunmen shot eight men to death and piled their bodies in a pickup truck in the southern state of Oaxaca, Mexican authorities reported Monday after a weekend in which at least 19 people were slain nationwide.
The victims were apparently on a hunting trip in rural Oaxaca near the Gulf coast when they were attacked. The state prosecutors' office said they were shot in the head and found Sunday, and one was 15 years old.
The motive is under investigation, but the region has been wracked by drug violence, land disputes and other feuds.

That looks like the perfect place to receive shipments of cocaine from South America and redistribute them for local and gringo consumption. If they were hunting, they weren’t doing a very good job, they didn’t know they were the prey.
I wish them well. 20 years ago it was a great idea. My experiance has lead me to believe there is a spirit of lawlessness? there that continues to get worse. Most of the people there no longer like gringos.
But it is the same here in America. The devil is hard at work.
If your sister is saved then she may be where the Lord wants her to be.
They sold their home on the beach in a gated community in Cabo about 7 years ago. I thought they were done with Mexico, yet this place is pretty darned nice. They also keep a plane at the airport there and their second “rather large” yacht there. I think the locals see them as a good financial addition to the area.
My 15 yr old daughter came home from a youth group meeting a couple of weeks ago and said they were going to start raising money for a trip...to Mexico. Uh, no.
I am nobody to listen to, but I recommend against it.
A fifteen year old American girl would be a prime kidnapping target even by the so called police themselves.
All I am saying is that I would not let my daughter go anywhere in Mexico without me and even then, most likely not. Too much risk.
But hey, that’s just me. I would try to take her somewhere else on a family trip.
No kidding. My teeth about fell out. Being a typical teenage girl, she had no clue why I was flipping out. I told her to ask the sponsors if this was really such a great idea - their response was “Why not?”. Oh, yeah, the kid is SO NOT going. But then, after I explained it to her, she wasn’t excited about the trip anymore. I would like to talk to the sponsors and see just what rock they’ve been living under.
Ooops. You’re right.
Just eight? http://www.elpasotimes.com/juarez/ci_15796202
