But please don't do it. There are a handful of good reasons to oppose allowing the Islamic center to be built so close to Ground Zero, particularly the family opposition and the availability of other, less raw locations. But what is happening now — the misinformation about the center and its supporters; the open declarations of war on Islam on talk radio, the Internet and other forums; the painful divisions propelled by all the overheated rhetoric — is not worth whatever political gain your party might achieve.

Here’s the deal, Islam builds mosques to mark their victories. Not mis-information, historical fact. Any Muslim knows this, if I know it. This mosque will stand as a victory marker at the WTC. Therefore it cannot be there. If all they wanted to do was build the mosque they would have backed off of the site immediately when they saw the opposition to it. But they want the victory marker.
Maybe the author of this piece and Michael Bloomberg and Pres. Obama are too blinded by their sophistication to see this, but ordinary people, on both sides of the issue, can see it plain as day.

Back to my point, the liberals tell us that there is this separation of Church and State in the constitution (even though there is not) so how can they support using our tax dollars to fund the beg-a-thon to fund a weapons factory.

Yet Time seems to have no problems with the most outrageous charges against Republicans as long as Democrats gain politically. For example, I await Time's condemnation of the annual "Republicans want to bring back slavery" ads on black radio stations.
And I would add that sharia law, fully implemented, means legalized slavery, so in fact supporters of the mosque are actually working to bring back slavery.

Unfortunately too many elected republicans and others in power positions ARE stupid and spineless. The democrat party has come to expect republicans to roll over and be kicked by the donks. If you vote for any republican other than one who will fight viciously to maintain the Constitution then you are voting for more of the same.
