DULUTH, Ga. - A couple who lost their home to foreclosure and spent hours locked in a SWAT standoff with police when they refused to leave, talked about the situation Thursday.

The Grabers said they were living their version of the American dream. The Grabers said they owned their home for more than a decade when Howard Graber suffered a massive stroke. The Grabers said that's when everything changed.

On Wednesday, Gwinnett County deputies went to the Graber's Davenport Park Lane home to serve an eviction notice after the bank had foreclosed on the property. It turned into a four hour standoff and SWAT teams were called in.

"I was afraid for my life. I was afraid for my disabled husband's life. There's no way I was going to go to the front door," said Noya Lee Graber.

Police eventually stormed the house. Howard Graber spent the night in jail.

"They said, 'Taser her! Taser her now!' and I got tasered right on my stomach," said Noya Lee Graber.

It's a dreary task arguing with people who think it's fine and dandy for Goldman Sachs, AIG, Wells Fargo, Citi, JP Morgan, etc. to ransack the country while at the same time seem to enjoy having a laugh over jack-booted thugs to taser an old lady. Some going so far as to suggest using real guns!

The hypocrisy is stunning isn't it?

Before you jump on someone elses bandwagon, you might want to check out my post 27.

I started the thread so I don’t know what you mean by “jumping on someone elses bandwagon”.

You state in famous post 27 you would have let the companies fail.

That’s great.

The difference we have is: I want to make them pay if (when) it’s proven these companies have broken the law.

It is a matter of equity and unjust enrichment. If you watched the video I linked you have to ask “who has been unjustly enriched?”

I honestly don't see how we can do that with so many in DC in on it. We'd have to clear everyone out. Not that I wouldn't love to see THAT!.

Ga has non judicial forclosure.

Banks can use fraudulant documents and claimes. (no proof of chain of custody of the note)

In FL three law FIRMS are under investigation for using faked and or incomplete or wrong case documents.

@ DJ as well. We have to present *facts* about LAWS with evidence that they’ve been broken to LAW Enforcement.

No one said it would be easy.

However, it’s much more energetically profitable to do what I suggest above than argue about non-issues like we’re doing here now.

We’ve pulled the Assignments of Mortgage and other pleadings/filings in the Darby case already.

I know your post was scarcasm, but I actually do like responsible people that want to live in a better neighborhood than they could afford to buy in. Acutally, I need poor people. I like poor people. They are my renters.

I treat the good ones with respect and they have made me slightly wealthy.
