Democratic candidate John Hickenlooper now holds a double-digit lead in the three-way race for governor of Colorado.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Colorado Voters finds Hickenlooper, the mayor of Denver, with 43% support. Businessman Dan Maes, the winner of Tuesdays Republican Primary, captures 31% of the vote, while American Constitution Party candidate Tom Tancredo trails with 18%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and five percent (5%) are undecided.
This is the first poll conducted since Maes won the Republican primary.
It shows Maes with a bit more support than he had before the primary and Tancredo with a bit less support.
Hickenloopers level of support has been fairly steady for months, but he has clearly benefitted from Tancredos entry in the race which splits the Republican vote. The Democrat had run roughly even with Maes in two earlier surveys.
Tancredo and the rest of their third party ilk need to give it up and try to change the republican party from within. The republican primaries is where the battle against RINOs must be fought. Otherwise, we continue to aid the Leftists in destroying our economy and country. Ross Perot gave us Clinton, after all. Anyone with a brain can see this-!
Being in the race and splitting the vote is always a dumb ass thing to do.
The idiots are those rinos who wont reach out to them.
This is what the betrayal by rinos has cost.
I will not vote for rinos or any other variety of liberal.
I think the mis-understanding of some is generational.

Tancredo is sending a powerful message. To get 18% of the vote without even campaigning and just throwing your hat in the ring shows that the Rep candidate is weak.
Thanks for the info.
He threw the election, pure and simple.
Tancredo guarantees a win for Hickenlooper.
He doesn't have 31 percent, he only has 18. Add that to the 31 the Republican has and it would be 49% to the dems 43. Tom is splitting the vote and his ideals won't do anyone a bit of good when the frickin' Demwit wins the election thanks to his BS move.
As much as I like Tom, he needs to drop out, and soon. He’s costing the GOP in Colorado.
No reason to believe he will win. By helping to elect another Demonrat he will only weaken the anti-illegal-immigration cause.
And only those that agree with him think so. I won’t disagree that Maes is a weak candidate however.
I can’t cite it because I heard him on Peter Boyles KHOW radio program saying it. I doubt it’s in any literature but I’ll look.
Maybe little Tommy has a post dated check for Nov.3rd from
Soros?
I love these morons who think Tancredo is sending RINOs a message.
You can spin it any way you want. But the only thing Tancredo is doing is handing the election to the RATS. Period.
I’d much prefer a moderate Repub who is with me 70-80% of the time than a Obamaite RAT who is with me on exactly ZERO issues.
Your view reflects a practical, imminently sensible approach. That means, watch out, you're treading on dangerous ground here. Get your asbestos suit on, quick...
I’m really disappointed this thread ran this long without anyone asking that. It was my first question too.
