The widow of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy is being urged by prominent Democrats to run for the seat currently held by Republican Sen. Scott Brown.
They believe that Victoria Reggie Kennedy has the best chance of any candidate to win the seat back in 2012, according to a report in The Washington Post.
Though she has seemed to bat down the idea, Kennedy has been in some ways acting the part of a candidate. She has raised her public profile by campaigning for other politicians and appearing at events across the country.

There you go again. Acting like a humorless Republican hack.
Oh, yea, you were using humor. First, you try to fool yourself and then you try to fool us. Tom, do something useful. You hang out here waiting for an opportunity to take a jab at anything Republican. You do it trying to gin up support for YOUR little political party. Tom, give it up. Your party will never go anywhere. I have a simple truth for you—if you want to achieve anything politically, it must be done in either the Republican party of the Democrat party. Take your choice or go take up some other endeavor because until you realize this truth, you’re wasting your time, as well as that of others.
Frankly, old friend, you’re now a poster child for what the formerly grand old party has become. Unprincipled. Self-aggrandizing. Incessantly insulting to conservatives and conservatism. No thanks. Life is way too short.
Interesting, yet the Presidency is limited. Wonder what 16-20 years of a conservative prez (real) could do to turn this country back toward it's charter? We've seen what lib-conrolled congress has gotten us ('cept for the "Contract with America" congress- first time in fourty years to go republican).
I do agree that the people should get the government they vote for but a little help from the media in vetting candidates would be nice. For example, my choice for 2012 has been mercilessly attacked by the media (and one 'gap-toothed' late night comedian )- a practice, if applied to a particular other candidate, would have produced howls of racism. I mean, they could have at least made fun of his ears if not his thin resume'. (Bankrupting these media centers would go a long way toward facillitating a national course correction).
Smells a little desperate of them to be begging her to run 2 years before the election.
