Good Saturday morning. Its going to be one of the most memorable and debated statements of President Obamas first two years in office. Remember how much attention was lavished on his remarks about the Cambridge cop-prof confrontation? Well, this is bigger -- whether you think it constitutes Obama delivering on his status as a breakthrough figure on American history, or whether you see it as a breathtaking act of elitist arrogance.
PLAYBOOK FACTS OF LIFE: Its either what you always hoped about Obama, or what you always suspected about Obama.
In remarks the White House embargoed for 8:30 p.m., the president said at an Iftar dinner (a community meal to break the fast during Ramadan in the White Houses State Dining Room: Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country. (Applause.) And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan. (Full passage below.)
Key Republicans think the president bought himself a heap of trouble by sounding off on such an emotional issue after his White House had said it wasnt going to get involved in a local controversy. (A
Mayor Michael Bloomberg got great national press for insisting that we would be untrue to the best part of ourselves and who we are as New Yorkers and Americans if we said no to a mosque in Lower Manhattan.
But three months before midterms so close and consequential they constitute a national election, the president is coming out on the minority side of an issue where the country isnt narrowly split. A CNN poll released Wednesday asked: As you may know, a group of Muslims in the U.S. plan to build a mosque two blocks from the site in New York City where the World Trade Center used to stand. Do you favor or oppose this plan? Favor: 29% Oppose 68%. Full results (8-page PDF) http://bit.ly/bfMtZi
Heres a peek at our e-mail as Washington reacted:
--A top White House official, on whether there was internal debate or if this was just something the president wanted to do: Nope, he was crystal clear. This was a bedrock American principle, and however inconvenient, there was no way he, as President of the United States, could or would duck the question."
--EXCLUSIVE -- Michael Gerson, former top adviser to George W. Bush e-mails: "An enormously complex and emotional issue -- but ultimately the right thing to do. A president is president for every citizen, including every Muslim citizen. Obama is correct that the way to marginalize radicalism is to respect the best traditions of Islam and protect the religious liberty of Muslim Americans. It is radicals who imagine an American war on Islam. But our conflict is with the radicals alone.
--A congressional GOP aide: Im not sure how much they read Gerson outside of D.C.
It doesnt make it right or reasonable for people to be upset about this. But the reality is those headlines are provocative because injecting himself into this New York-based, 9/11-charged issue is a provocative act. Those headlines are not going to play well in Peoria.
I havent seen any [statements] from members. Im surprised the mosque doesnt have marks all over it from all the 10-foot poles."
I have a bedrock AMericikan proimciple. it is holy, it is cast into the steel of my guns, and it says : “Meh! Come ond get some Obama!” LOL.

Legitimate Questions for the President
Today, August 14, 2010, 3 hours ago | Sarah Palin
Mr. President, should they or should they not build a mosque steps away from where radical Islamists killed 3000 people? Please tell us your position. We all know that they have the right to do it, but should they? And, no, this is not above your pay grade. If those who wish to build this Ground Zero mosque are sincerely interested in encouraging positive “cross-cultural engagement” and dialogue to show a moderate and tolerant face of Islam, then why haven’t they recognized that the decision to build a mosque at this particular location is doing just the opposite? Mr. President, why aren’t you encouraging the mosque developers to accept Governor Paterson’s generous offer of assistance in finding a new location for the mosque on state land if they move it away from Ground Zero? Why haven’t they jumped at this offer? Why are they apparently so set on building a mosque steps from what you have described, in agreement with me, as “hallowed ground”? I believe these are legitimate questions to ask.

The street punk in chief is about to instigate civil unrest in America.
This is the MOST UN-AMERICAN group top EVER hold office in this country - EVER!
So when the shiat hits the fan, what’s he going to do, ask for the Blue Helmets to invade America to “maintain” stability?!
Muslims hate us, and he support Muslims.
What else can be said?
Oh that is so cool! No one has answered your question yet, right? I feel like raising my hand and jumping up and down (cuz someone asked a question I can answer)!!!
It must have been a year or 2 ago that I could not ~quite~ remember a poem I found entertaining. It took a dozen or more attempts on google to find it (about an hour). I had the cadence in my head and some of the syllables or sounds of the Arab's name. Enough anticipation.
I don't know of a way to turn off the midi music on that website, so if you want to go there, you might need to use your "mute" button after a while.
I will post the first paragraph so you can see if this is what you were looking for:
"The sons of the Prophet are brave men and bold
and quite unaccustomed to fear,
But the bravest by far in the ranks of the shah,
Was Abdul Abulbul Amir."
I doubt that. Obama is around the 35-40 range among whites, 90 among blacks, and 55 among hispanics. This won’t affect him at all among blacks. Maybe a little among hispanics, but even a 10 pt drop there would be less than a pt total. Among whites he’s already near rock bottom among those who could possibly be against him. The liberals and dems will be highly unlikely to abandon him, just as conservatives stayed with Bush. And liberals are most likely to support this mosque anyway.
Given his strengths among blacks it will near impossible for Obama to fall below 40 in any poll. He’d have to be in the 20s among whites. His #s among whites are the same or worse than Bush’s were. But his 90% of the black vote has him 10 pts higher than where Bush(or any other white President) would be.
It should be required reading in all multicultural curicula in the public schools.
Agreed. Agreed. Y' know.... that poem came to mind just about the time I was realizing how serious the implications are with the diversity crowd and the threat of radical islam.
I have seen titles like "The coming muslim invasion" and "Culture of Death" and "Unholy alliance: progressivism and radical islam" or stuff like that. But I have only read one such book: Joel Richardson's "Antichrist: Islam's Awaited Messiah". It is a thorough, footnoted, clearly written book that compares Biblical prophecy about the Antichrist to the Koran's prophecy on Islams coming saviour... Very very similar individuals if not the same, according to the holy texts of those two religions.
Anyway, I bring this up because since then I have come to some conclusions about how the things in The Book of Revelations could possibly come about. Things which seemed confusing seem very possible to me now.
There was a time when Biblical scholars read parts of the Old Testament and theorized "All we can deduce from this is that someday Israel will be re-established, a nation again." Then in 1948 it came about.
Likewise, there was a time scholars theorized about monetary control, now we have the central bank. They theorized about transaction controls, now we have computers. They theorized about people being given a choice between worshipping the beast or being beheaded. Now it happens, only they are given a choice to confess Allah or be killed (sometimes by beheading). This would be the established religion someday. That seemed far-fetched. But now Sharia Law is becoming prevalent in parts of some non-Islamic countries.
Terrorism has as its goal the demoralizing and silencing of opposition. It wants to win support from those who sympathize. It wants to paralyze its opponents. Building a mosque near Ground Zero in NYC could have the same effects (except for a response from those who are awakening to the threat). The stated goals of that Muslim Cultural Center may be different. But if the funding and the results are the same as terrorism, then what else could it be?
So the reason for this post is to say that things seem to be moving very quickly. The "Muslim Invasion" was a theory. Now we have a muslim President (who claims to be Christian). The head of the government's council on faith initiatives is a Muslim. Government funding for terrorist organizations overseas. Palestinian refugees coming to the US. An Imam on a government funded trip to Muslim countries to reach out. NASA's goal is Muslim outreach!?!?
"The most beautiful sound in the world is the call to evening prayer" said Obama when he was campaigning. And many many of his campaign contributions came from overseas.
Let the sleeping giant (the American people) awake. And soon.
And "Come soon Lord Jesus."
See this, it may also widen your view and give it a distinct accuracy.

Jonah is good. He had a dispute with Frum, I think, that was kind of amusing.
Its a shame how much reading I have available that would "widen my view and give it a distinct accuracy" but not yet taken advantage of. From where I am, I can see on the bookshelf: Big black book of communism, Liberalism is a mental disorder, several books by Dinesh D'Souza, and others like that. Luckily, favorites of mine like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Michelle Markin, David Limbaugh, and others on Townhall.com are always available online. Limited amounts of Rush & Glenn Beck are good, I think. History lessons (on Beck's TV show) are off-putting to me, though.
Now I am name-dropping. sheesh. But I am being honest with myself.
All this to say that the reading of fiction and the tendency toward mysticism is not all bad. They provide a balance to the stresses of work, home, and current events. Heh.
If Obama entertained a Hamas or Hezballah supporter, even one, at his Friday night Muslim outreach, he is just plain evil, not dumb or misguided.
He has at his disposal, the CIA, FBI, military and other resources. If some guy with a computer can vet the attendees and find they are affiliated with political terror, then Obama could have found out had he so desired.
If they were dirty, he is evil, simple as that.
Obama is actually from a distinct historical line of fascists. All the markers are present. It pretty much goes in hand with your references from the bible and Revelations.
So many books, so little time!!!!
Glad to meet you, and I am encouraged by the incresing numbers of people who see Obama as fascist, That means we defeat him if we define him as to who he really is. His erratic behaviour begins to make sense, the creation of crisis, the use of crisis to use thuggish techniques to push for totalitarian power, ( we have to save ourselves, we have to do it NOW,,,etc.).
Our best weapons are truth, ridicule, and exposure. The history of fascism also reveals to us the means to defeat Obama and his movement. Fascism wins only when good men remain silent.
If we do not de-elect this nationalist socialist movement and Obama, the quintessential fascist , then there will have to be a blood bath.Americans will not be willing to allow their personal liberty to be taken quite so easily.
I hope you are right.
