A line of purple filled a Sacramento sidewalk Friday evening as state workers protested Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest furlough order outside a theater showing his latest movie.

About 100 members of Service Employees International Union Local 1000, wearing their signature purple shirts, marched outside the Century Stadium 14's showing of "The Expendables," the Sylvester Stallone film in which the governor makes a cameo appearance.

Union members chanted, "Schwarzenegger is expendable, we are dependable," and "California, can't you see, Arnold is a bad movie." A few cars honked in support.

"I hope we can hurt Schwarzenegger the way he's hurt us,"

The state is going under, but we don't care. We deserve to be able to drive the state into bankruptcy. We are the public sector employee unions. We have rights. We are more important than other citizens. Those citizen deserve to take on a second or third job, so they can send more taxes in to make our lives better.

BETTER LIVING THROUGH COLLECTIVE BLACKMAIL

There ought to be a $5 reward for pelts...

I have family members that are public sector union employees, so I don't really mean that last part. None the less, the rest of my post just about sums it up.

Just look at Greece for what these union thugs will do when the state runs out of money.

I agree. There shouldn’t be public sector unions. When they first appeared, folks predicted this. “Oh no, that won’t happen.”

It’s happening... End them today.

I'm sure that the "picket" line was well-coordinated with the Sacramento bee, and may have only lasted an hour or so.

Naturally, I will now have to go see the film, just because the SIEU said not to (and there will be many, many more uninstructable film-goers just like moi.)

I will, however, skip the "eat" film with Julia Roberts (who believes Republicans are "repugnant" and compares us to "reptiles").

SEIU: the same union that is dead silent on L.A. mayor Villaraigosa’s corruption and abuses, a la choice tickets to sporting events, travel, Oscars parties, etc., while slashing city jobs.
