Friday August 13, 2010First Rush, then Coulter, and Now Glenn Beck ... Whats Happening?
Commentary by John-Henry Westen OReilly asked Beck, Do you believe that gay marriage is a threat to the country in any way? Beck replied, No, I don't, adding sarcastically, Will the gays come and get us? The Glenn Beck revelation comes on the heels of two other startling announcements by conservative celebrity pundits in the last couple of weeks. Earlier this week it was announced that conservative pundit Ann Coulter would headline a fundraiser for the homosexual activist group within the Republican Party, GOProud. And on July 29, although his position had been revealed before, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh again came out in favor of homosexual civil unions, while being opposed to same-sex marriage. To be fair, it must be pointed out that Beck said he was looking at the big picture and promoting faith, the answer to all such things. Moreover, he added that he was okay with gay marriage with a caveat. As long as we are not going down the road of Canada, where it now is a problem for churches to have free speech. If they can still say, hey, we oppose it, he said. But even to have suggested, as strongly as he did, that he was not opposed to gay marriage is detrimental and demonstrates a small picture approach. Beck seems like a good guy. Hes thoughtful. Hes right on many matters in the culture war. For instance, when OReilly followed up and asked if Beck thought abortion threatened the United States, Beck replied dramatically in the affirmative. Abortion is killing, its killing, youre killing someone, he said. So I thought itd be worth it to calmly and persuasively share concerns with Beck on his approach. He may not read my email, but Im sure if enough pro-family folks were to get the message to him, hed reconsider his outlook.

“why are you on the thread supporting and cheering those that support gay rights?”
Denial?
Coy is more like it. Obama does that. It’s a great liberal trick. Say one thing while doing another.
Straight from the Ministry of Truth.
Remember what Jesus said to the woman who’d been married a bunch of times???? The FIRST husband is the only real husband......
I understand and agree with Jesus completely.....what’s the point of letting people marry and divorce over and over again? It loses meaning after a while....so it figures that gays would want to jump on the bandwagon as it’s going down in flamea...!
Rush has had at least 4 wives..........so are they really “wives” in the Biblical sense? At least the CHURCH has the sense to require an annulment......

Could it be being part of the beltway pundit class has the same effect it has serving in Washington DC? That there becomes a desire to be liked and to sellout to liberals?
Either way, those selling out need to realize they damaging their careers.
At least, Rush blasted Vaughn Walker's decision. It's hard to have any respect for the other two.
THis is my last reply to you.
I live in a place where I do not ever see same sex people kissing/hand holding in public.
I saw it the other day on a tv show and it was the strangest oddest thing I ever saw and I laughed my rear off because it was so bizzarre.
I don’t live in the tv set I don’t live in the internet world even though I do spend allot of time at FR.
I rarely go around to other places on the internet, I don’t have a cell phone or blackberry but I do have a kick butt Electrolux Washer and Dryer.
If it is allowed, THERE IS NO OTHER ROAD TO GO DOWN. If it is the equivalent of real marriage, then it can be taught to kids under the premise they need to learn about what the different types of marriage are. If it is allowed, photographers and others with religious beliefs against homosexuality will be forced to provide their services at homosexual weddings or faces fines. ALL THAT IS ALREADY HAPPENING.
We don’t know if the multiple marriages the woman in the Bible had were after divorce or if she was a bigamist. Remember, the Bible does give guidelines where divorce is accepted (Deuteronomy, 24:1). We have no idea Rush’s circumstances regarding his divorces as we don’t most other people’s.
This runs counter to your post.
Sounds like you're lying.
Too many minds are already made up. They can’t be bothered with facts.
Rush is clearly against judges going against the will of the people. Recently in Arizona, and CA. That is where he is. My point is he doesn’t see gay marriage as fake.
Well said.
Ol’ Sparky: “If it is allowed, THERE IS NO OTHER ROAD TO GO DOWN.”
Exactly!
You change stories fairly quickly. And cheer supporters of the gay agenda. You are not being honest.
He may not have commented the way you wanted, but he has come out against it many times. He has always focused on the legal aspects of the issue, that is just his mode. Because someone doesn't put something the way you want or give it the specific attention you want, doesn't mean they disagree.
*********************
It's very possible that this is at the very least, a part of the problem. However, as someone else posted, Rush has been married a number of times, and Coulter has never/not yet married, so there could be more than one issue here.
Beck is picking his battles. His primary target is creeping socialism. He will leave the gay-marriage and Islamic battles to others, for now.
How about Larry King? He has his 7th divorce coming because he slept around with his wife’s sister, who is 50!
Do you have core beliefs? Well good, stick to them!
Does it matter to you what Rush or Beck believes in? Are their beliefs more important to you than your own beliefs are to you?
Stand by your beliefs through thick and thin and you will sleep comfortably every night.
Ditto...;)
