President Obama's Big Government socialism is threatening the profits of The Washington Post, and Post reporter Steven Pearlstein can remain silent no more.
Not only does a Post company now stand accused of fraudulent practices, two high-powered law firms are considering lawsuits on behalf of the shareholders of the Post against the company's directors, including Warren Buffett and Bill Gates' wife Melinda.

WHY is the GAO doing this? What authority do they have to do this? I thought they were to investigate the govt, not the private sector? Do they also investigate not-for-profit colleges and universities?
Liberals and libertarians always forget that there is a God, who have set what is right and what is wrong. They may play with those rules, but every now and then God reminds them harshly by using their enemies or the tools they created against them.

Kaplan's cash flow is probably dependent on federal funds.

Kaplan had a promising start as a test preparation company (and probably actually taught the students something more in the process). Now their business is being a paid matchmaker for scholarships, student loans, and the like?

When you read the history of the WaPo, pay close attention to the violent strike in the mid 1970s. You will see that MeeMaw Kate was as capable as any plutocrat of union-busting.
When it came to the Family Money, what was theirs belonged to them. But the wages and working condition of the Little People was negotiable.

I went to the Kaplan website and checked all their programs. Nowhere do they promise or imply a 'student' will get any type of degree or diploma from them.
Their programs seem to all focus on 'Test Preparation'. Like for passing the PE Test a Mechanical Engineer has to take (and pass) to get his license.
I found nothing illegal or 'shady'. That is, if you can read and comprehend what you are reading.
Now, if the GAO wants to investigate a 'University', I suggest they look at SIU (Southern IL Univ). Since the '60's that place is famous for one thing - Parties.
(I'd rather hire a kid with a Chicago HS Diploma than someone with a Masters Degree from SIU.)(yes, it's that bad)
