THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN All the votes have been counted, the counties have certified their votes, and Dr. Dan Benishek is the winner
IRON MOUNTAIN, MI - Seven days of certification meetings across the 1st District have resulted in the final lead for Republican grassroots candidate Dr. Dan Benishek rising from 1 to 15. One of the largest districts in the United States, the 1st Congressional District consists of 31 counties. Boards of Canvassers were required to meet and verify the numbers submitted to the Secretary of State by the 17th, but all have completed certifying their tallies as of today.
"I am very happy with the outcome of the certification process," said Benishek. "This has been a very long week but we have not faltered in continuing to campaign and move forward to a Republican victory this fall. I humbly ask all of those who voted last Tuesday, for any candidate, to join me in my campaign to defeat Representative McDowell this November". The State Board of Canvassers have until the 23rd to meet and certify the election but have chosen to meet this Friday instead.
Dr. Dan Benishek is a surgeon from Iron River, Michigan and the Republican candidate for Congress in Michigans 1st Congressional District. Please visit our website at BenishekforCongress.com.

Just like eating an elephant. One bite at a time. LOL Keep the faith. I am seeing way too many Schaur signs in Delta Township.

You're kind of on the edge of the district in a more heavily unionized area. Nothing for Schauer here in the heart of the district. In fact I went right past his Jackson office the other day and don't believe I even saw a sign there. We're old freesoil territory.

The Benishek primary victory certification is now the lead story on redstate.com . Remember that this is Stupak(D)'s current seat, although he is stepping down, and generally is considered a 'Rat district.
I'm pulling for Benishek, but it would seem likely that Allen will ask for a recount, given the very slim margin between them.

And yet another RINO is defeated.Don't count Allen out yet. The margin is so thin that he'll likely ask for a recount. Hope he loses there as well.
To: justiceseeker93
And, if Allen asks for a recount, him being a carpetbagger as dubbed by the entire UP, and the hint that he does not trust his own constituents and township leaders, he will be tearing apart the Northern Republican Party.

A taste of things to come. Expose the RINOs, vote in the true Conservatives.
