Fiorina wants less government role in recovery

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina, backed by business and manufacturing leaders Tuesday at a San Jose renewable energy design company, called for less government intervention in trying to jump-start the economy.

"We know what it takes to create jobs in this state," Fiorina told about two dozen people at Renewable Power Solutions in San Jose. "It means cutting through regulation, cutting through taxes, stopping government growth.

"While we know these things, (Democratic U.S. Sen.) Barbara Boxer instead believes that the way to promote recovery is more government spending, more government taxing and more government borrowing and more government bailouts," Fiorina said.

She added that unemployment has risen since the federal economic stimulus package passed in February 2009.

Fiorina, a former Hewlett-Packard CEO, is in a statistical dead heat with three-term incumbent Boxer, according to a July Field Poll. The poll showed that a bigger challenge for Boxer is that 52 percent of the respondents hold an unfavorable view of her - the highest since she was elected to the Senate in 1992.

Assuming she is miraculously elected, we will see if the action matches the lip service. I’m not hopeful. I think she is a RINO. I will love to be proved wrong.

If she turns out to be a Kaye Bailey, I guess we’re winners in a way...

If she turns out to be another Snowe or Collins and nothing more than a Cantwell or Murray.. what was the exercise for?

Still, far better than Sen. Boxer. Too bad, but what can be expected of California?

“Still, far better than Sen. Boxer”

Exactly. Boxer is such a whacko that even if Fiorina has some RINO blood in her veins she will still be a big improvement over that idiot Boxer.

“government role in recovery” is an oxymoron, like I’m from the government and I’m here to help; or Miliary intelligence.

Miliary intelligence

Although liberals have said that since the radical leftist movements of the 1960s, I have never understood how it made any sense to anyone.

What do you guys mean when you say it?

Well, well, doesn't she sound conservative at the moment. Hopefully, if she's elected, I hope she carries through.

Oh, I’m voting for her in spades. I just expect nothing from her except to add one more R seat so as to retake the Senate and overturn Socialized Medicine and the rest of Obama’s socialist agenda. If she ends up 1-inch to the right of center, I will be tickled to death and call it gravy.

CBS 5 Poll: Fiorina Widens Lead Over Boxer
Dead Heats In Governor, Lt. Governor Races; Marijuana Prop. 16 Passing

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) - California Republican U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina has increased her lead over Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer to five percentage points according to a new CBS 5 KPIX-TV poll released Thursday, which also shows gubernatorial candidates Democrat Jerry Brown and Republican Meg Whitman in a dead heat.

The CBS 5 poll, conducted by the research firm SurveyUSA, showed Fiorina edging Boxer 47 percent to 42 percent, compared to a CBS 5 poll one month ago showing Fiorina over Boxer 47 to 45 percent.

Well Carly, if you’re going to be in government, and your management skills haven’t improved since your tenure at HP, I certainly hope government won’t have anything to do with a recovery.

Interesting source of venue.

That is a company that would not exist if it was not for the global warming hoax and Arnie's $3 BILLION dollar Solar initiative, not to mention the endless list of government spending programs to go "green". Their website touts Solar for commercial use by saying that going "green" is a positive PR move for companies. And their website also links to websites laying out the vast government subsidies/rebates available for those who join their solar bandwagon.

That's as counter-intuitive as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, who backed the "stimulus" crappola, putting up big bucks for Fiorina when she tries to imply she is against such programs.

The CommieBroadcastSystem sponsors a poll by robo-polling SurveyUSA ...
which happens to turn out the ONLY two polls produced in a year (i.e. ever)
that show Carly beating Boxer.

Call me skeptical.

You've got to be kidding. China is on the way to adding us as the newest Chinese province.

THANKS. That is good news.

People think Boxer is unbeatable. She is a mean politician and she is entrenched in California. I would say she is normally unbeatable. Not today. We are in an economic depression, and those who don’t know it can feel it even if they don’t know what to call what they are feeling.

This election like no other “It’s the economy, stupid.”

All incumbents should live in dread, especially the Democrats. Obama has become a blessing in disguise. Except for the wilfully blind or dellusional, the rest of the nation sees the socialists clearly after their naked over-reaching power grab. This over-reaching is what exposed them for the power-hungry socialists they are.

20 years ago, such a power grab would have seen the Democrats cleaned completetly from the halls of congress. Today, about a third of the electorate is socialist and on the take, so this power grab doesn’t come without its supporters.

In the end, the current depression has voters livid and people like Boxer are solidly in the cross-hairs. She is very beatable this year.

“It’s the economy, stupid”.
