Robert Gibbs Proves "You Can’t Fix Stupid"

It’s arguable that in addition to being the most radical administration in American history, President Obama’s crew is also among the most incompetent. Like leftists the world over, his diplomats, cabinet members, and even his Vice President, appear to hold positions not because of their IQs or their love of this country but because of their loyalty to liberal causes.

Perhaps no member of Obama’s administration exemplifies this as clearly White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. Often referred to a “gaffe machine” by pundits of all flavors, Gibbs has spent the 20 months since Obama’s election proving the veracity of comedian Ron White’s assertion: “You can’t fix stupid.”

(For those of you who are sticklers on dates and times, Gibbs actually began speaking for Obama a few months before Obama was elected. I know this because the leftists at Democaticunderground.com were freaking out in early September 2008, worrying aloud that Gibbs might cost Obama the election. Wrote one blogger there: “[Gibbs is] Obama's chief spokesman apparently and frankly, he sucks at it.”)

Another case of Obama being more like George W. Bush than the left expected. Remember Scott McClellan?

Well, reporters may have “burst out laughing more than 600 times” during Gibbs’s first 4 months in office, but they never made a big deal of it until he lost his mind and attacked the left.

Bet he goes nowhere.

“Gibbs joined Barack Obama’s 2004 U.S. Senate campaign as communications director in mid-April 2004[14] and remained with the senator through the first two years of Obama’s term. Gibbs is credited with guiding Obama through those first years and molding his rise on the national scene. According to the New York Times, Gibbs advised Obama on politics, strategy and messaging, and spent more time with Obama than any other advisor.[2]” Wikijunk

It’s hard to sound logical, rational, & reasonable when defending illogical, irrational, & unreasonable presidential policies.

Good idea!

I had noticed some physical problems with of my male dogs so I had him "fixed" so he couldn't pass along his flawed genes.

If you surround yourself with clowns, you can look intelligent. Methinks this is the way of Mr. Skittles.

Stupid is a virus. You can’t cure it, only mask the symptoms.

Gibb’s problem isn’t that he’s stupid. He has an impossible job. When the guy with the gun behind you says to go out and tell the press that there are no American tanks in Baghdad and the infidels are defeated you do it. You know you look ridiculous. It’s your job.

Gibb’s has to daily face the fact that he works for an administration that can’t answer any question that wasn’t planted. He is the point man for a president that does no press conferences, no interviews (where actual questions are asked) and gives him nothing to work with.

This type of thing has been going on a very long time in Washington.

A good read on this subject (misdirection by professional politicians of an uninformed and easily fooled electorate) is Mr. Greider's book, "Who Will Tell The People". Tho written in the early 90s, it is as cogent today as then.

Pay no attention to "the man in front of the curtain"! This is a planned effort by the little islamic muslim god-in-chief to misdirect attention away from the crap he is leading.

Do...most assuredly do...pay attention to "the man behind the curtain!

Gibbs came in extremely arrogant because he was a high level, inner circle advisor to Obama, and been around awhile. This brash, in your face attitude was new, as historically we got used to deferential, polite people like Scott McClelland (what a dork!), Ari Fleisher, Dana, Tony, DeeDee Myers, etc. There was a feeling this is the President’s home and you are guests in it and we speak for him, so that it was understood to never be snarky or even confrontational, but enter Gibbs. Smart ass. Immediately reminded us of Baghdad Bob. I’m glad he is losing it. KARMA
