Lesbian cadet quits West Point

WEST POINT — Cadet Katie Miller said she couldn't listen to her comrades toss around the word "fag" anymore, and making up stories about fictional boyfriends was driving her crazy.

So Miller, a lesbian who ranks No. 9 in her class of future Army leaders, stepped out the closet last weekend and quit West Point.

"I thought I would have the strength to re-closet myself," said Miller, who was openly gay to her family and friends in high school. "I completely underestimated the personal toll it would have on me.

One of my DIs (Force Recon) at Parris Island told me that on one “deep recon” mission in Vietnam they had a team member “break’. They spend a week or more getting him and themselves out of “injun country” and back to basecamp.

He told me that he promised himself then that if ever he became a DI, if anyone going through one of his platoons was ever in their life going to come unglued, he would make sure that it would be at boot camp, rather than in combat.

He was true to that promise.

Good man.

When I joined the Navy (back in 1988), they did a background check on me. Now, my rate (CTT) had a TS/SSBI clearance, they asked 50 and 60 year old ladies I worked with at Krogers questions about my spending habits, dating habits, language, etc.

How did someone going into West Point not get a cursory investigation to anyone in their high school “Is so and so a known homosexual?”

What a waste of tax dollars.

You may be on the wrong forum. Aberrant sexual behavior is unacceptable.

FR is a conservative site. We do not appreciate our members fighting against us on our conservative values and issues. If you wish to support homosexual marriage or homosexuals in the military or hate crimes against us for speaking out against government promotion of homosexuality that’s your business, but you’d better do it somewhere else and not on FR. If you value your posting privileges, that is. FR is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-marriage, pro-military, pro-traditional American conservatism and it is a privilege to post here. Those who support the godless liberal/Marxist destruction of our free society and our country are free to exercise their free speech rights elsewhere. I won’t stand in your way.

I sometimes think that what offends the straight world more is not what gays do, it's being told that we must not feel any revulsion about it. Yet gay men have often indicated that the very idea of sex with a woman makes them nauseous. So they should understand: for every sexual practice, there is someone out there who loves it and someone who thinks it's disgusting.

Heck, there are some sexual practices that straight people do, and I, though also straight, find them to be revolting and potentially unhealthy as well. But what really offends me is being told that I'm a prude or whatever because there are some things I find disgusting.

It’s kind of a variation on the old Carlin joke, where everyone else on the road is either an idiot (driving slower than you) or a maniac (passing you) - we like things our own way.

The bottom line for me isn’t where you want to put tab_a into slot_b or whatever. It’s whether or not you do your job in a professional manner.

I really don’t care. Just don’t make it an issue. DADT fits that.

Like I said. I knew several gay sailors that were AD on my boat. I knew several lesbians when I rotated to shore duty.

I didn’t care. Be professional.

DADT solves all this shit. Except for the rabel rousers. Discharge them

“Being homosexual isn’t a sin...”

Huh? That’s no different than saying, “Being a murderer isn’t a sin. Acting on it is.”

To be homosexual is to live according to a desire that is completely contrary to Biblical theology. Don’t forget that Christ said that to simply lust in your heart is to sin.

the analogy fails because a murderer committed the act - if there is no attempt, there’s no murderer

Don’t forget that Christ said that to simply lust in your heart is to sin.

What Christ meant was to entertain the idea. Otherwise we'd still be in sin even though we resisted temptation. Lusting in your heart is fantasizing about a sin.

Their definition of tolerance goes beyond mere acceptance, into advocacy. People are tired of being called intolerant when they actually are very much so. I suspect this gal was very proud of her lesbianism, but not so much when she started getting called on it.

I stand on my position. Maybe this will help you:

Every human being is called to receive a gift of divine sonship, to become a child of God by grace. However, to receive this gift, we must reject sin, including homosexual behavior—that is, acts intended to arouse or stimulate a sexual response regarding a person of the same sex. The Catholic Church teaches that such acts are always violations of divine and natural law.

Homosexual desires, however, are not in themselves sinful. People are subject to a wide variety of sinful desires over which they have little direct control, but these do not become sinful until a person acts upon them, either by acting out the desire or by encouraging the desire and deliberately engaging in fantasies about acting it out. People tempted by homosexual desires, like people tempted by improper heterosexual desires, are not sinning until they act upon those desires in some manner.

************

The Call to Chastity

The modern arguments in favor of homosexuality have thus been insufficient to overcome the evidence that homosexual behavior is against divine and natural law, as the Bible and the Church, as well as the wider circle of Jewish and Christian (not to mention Muslim) writers, have always held.

The Catholic Church thus teaches: “Basing itself on sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2357).

However, the Church also acknowledges that “[homosexuality’s] psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. . . . The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s cross the difficulties that they may encounter from their condition.

“Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection” (CCC 2357– 2359).

Paul comfortingly reminds us, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it” (1 Cor. 10:13).

Homosexuals who want to live chastely can contact Courage, a national, Church-approved support group for help in deliverance from the homosexual lifestyle.

Nobody knew until she resigned. You have to read the article to see what a wuss she is.
