Rasmussen ^ | 8-11-10

The race for the U.S. Senate in Florida continues to be all about Governor Charlie Crist and former state House Speaker Marco Rubio, regardless of which Democrat they face.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Florida shows Rubio with 38% of the vote and Crist at 33% if Congressman Kendrick Meek is the nominee. Meek earns 21%. Only one percent (1%) prefer some other candidate, and seven percent (7%) are undecided.

If billionaire Jeff Greene is the Democratic candidate, Crist gets 37% support to Rubio’s 36%, with Greene trailing at 20%. two percent (2%) like another candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

Last month, Rubio also held a narrow lead if Meek is the Democratic nominee, and Crist was slightly ahead with Greene in the race.

Crist needs to lose. The repub party of FL carried him on the long road to the Governorship. The bahstid turns around and sticks it to every Repub who supported him. He is what is wrong with politics in America.

Rubio with a lead...whew.

Losing this Senate seat to Crist would be bitter indeed.

Miami Herald endorsed Rubio.
And Crist hasn’t been able to run down any oil cleanup photos to horn in on.

has anyone informed the pollsters that Rubio has not even won the Primary? pretty big assumption, and a bit presumptuous and arrogant IMHO..

Did you notice that your candidate wasn’t even part of the poll? I wonder why.

yes I wonder why.. I have received calls from such pollsters and the questions start off with the ASSUMPTION that the race is Crist vs Rubio. When I tell the pollster that I am supporting Dr. Escoffery in the PRIMARY I am told that is not a valid answer the question and they hang up... hmmmmm... yes I wonder why..

You are full of it. I do some polling and we don’t hang up on people, ever.

The calls I make start off with the ASSSUMPTION that the governor's race in Wisconsin will be between Scott Walker and Tom Barrett. When someone says they will vote for Mark Neumann, whose name is not listed in the questions, we DO NOT HANG UP ON THEM.

You are so full of it that you should be embarassed.

The race is Rubio vs Crist vs the Dem nominee. I’ve seen nothing to suggest anyone else is going to miraculously cruise to victory in the Republican primary hopeful thoughts aside.

really? i should record the next call on my blackberry are you denying that the questions intentionally leave out candidates? The hang up part may be a bit exaggerated because I usally try to get the caller to rephrase the question and they ALWAYS stick to the “approved question” which usually frustrates the caller and sometimes results in me hanging up on them.... Which really skews the poll results... I get a LOT of these type of calls so it will not be hard to record the next one..
