White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, drawing criticism for his remarks on the “professional left,” sent his deputy to fill in for him an hour before he was scheduled to brief reporters on Tuesday.
The White House announced that the deputy press secretary, Bill Burton, would take reporters’ questions at 1:30 p.m., 30 minutes later than Gibbs was scheduled to brief.
Gibbs had singled out liberal naysayers in an interview with The Hill’s Sam Youngman. “I hear these people saying he’s like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested,” Gibbs told him. “I mean, it’s crazy.”
Hours after the story was published, Gibbs apologized in this statement to the left-leaning Huffington Post, The Washington Post’s Greg Sargent and The Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder:
“I watch too much cable, I admit. Day after day it gets frustrating. Yesterday I watched as someone called legislation to prevent teacher layoffs a bailout -- but I know that's not a view held by many, nor were the views I was frustrated about.

Was following the discussion here on FR, started on Saturday, the one concerning why Barry went to Chicago and Michelle went to Marbella. I didn’t make any comments, but kept wondering the purpose of these trips and where all this activity might lead. Sure seemed like they were greasing a bolt hole.
Well, I think I found it.
The Obama Administration gave $23Million - yes! Our money! - to Kenya so they could produce a new constitution. The resulting constitution, which recieved a great deal of press here because it legalizes abortion in Kenya, allows Barak Hussein Obama II eligibility to run for President of Kenya!

We’ve already had two of Onada’s “economy team” resign. Thw story line is that they’re burned out. Perhaps Gibbs is getting whiplash from the demrat talking points that keep spinning 180 degrees every 30 seconds or so.

A Big Govt bailout is a PERFECT description of what this is.
Sure it ‘prevents layoffs’ because we are spending more money than we can afford there.
