AUSTIN President Barack Obama mocked Republicans as devoid of new economic ideas at a Democratic fundraiser Monday, then pounded his message that education "is the economic issue of our time" before a cheering crowd at the University of Texas.
"I mean, it would be one thing if having run the economy into the ground, having taken record surpluses and turned them into record deficits, if having presided over the meltdown of our financial system, that they had gone off into the desert for a while and reflected and said, 'Boy, we really screwed up,'" Obama said at the Democratic National Committee fundraiser.

Obama's visit was targeted by Republicans, including U.S. Rep. John Carter, R-Round Rock, who spoke to reporters in a conference call arranged by the Republican National Committee.
"This is a situation where, if you go talk to folks in Texas, you find out that they are scared to death of the spending, and they're scared to death of the tax increases that are headed their way, and they're wanting a different agenda in the future," Carter said. "The president is bringing a message to Texas which is a message that Texans are not interested in."

I understand that no democrats met him at the airport in “liberal” Austin. LOL.
He’s radio-active.
Cool. Two frickin amnesty pimps in one place.
Cool. Two frickin amnesty pimps in one place. Toss in Sarah for a real party!
Perry's greeting Obama served to point this out, probably a good move.
Should have presented him with a illegal Mexican....
i despise dumbama but let me ask this- when is a GOP candidate going into a welfare state like Ca, NY, Ill and talk about the fact the same tired liberal policies have kept these people down?? the way dumbama goes into Texas and rips the GOP????
when is the GOP going to join forces with a group like Project 21, a collection of intelligent, articulate conservative black leaders who are not afraid to go into the inner cities and tell people liberalism is a scourge???
He should have visited about 35 or 40 miles north of the ut campus to get the real pulse of his bad policies. ut students are s bunch of ultra liberal, America hating thugs. They probably had several thousand pairs of knee pads on hand for the event.
Barry should feel right at home in Austin.
Good question.
VERY good question
Answer: As woon as wer stop letting the GOP establishment good ol’ boy network keep picking who’s next in line in seniority
Like “Little ricky” Lazio in NY trying to beat Andrew cuomo
Did you note that the big push was for “more college graduates”, not “more qualified college graduates”. I can guarantee more graduates if you let me give everyone an “A” in every class. Of course, no one will look twice at your diploma.....but you’ll have one.
As opposed to him who never had any economic ideas to be "devoid" of . . . . . . . . except for those that emanate from the Alinsky/communist handbook!!
This guy is such a moron, he's giving morons a bad name!!!
Obama has proven himself to only be president of SOME United States since he refused to accept Perry’s letter directly.
Additionally, Houston Comical is linking to a Homeland Security “response” letter to Perry’s letter that is dated several days PRIOR to Perry’s letter.
Blah blah blah.

Obama’s only “economic idea” is to shake down trial lawyers for kickbacks and to block efforts at tort reform.
You are welcome to The Party, Nov. 2012 !
The real push is to get more impressionable young minds into the indoctrination seats to keep the college bubble going. There's no point in actual graduation because there are no jobs. The new student loans will be forgiven after 10 years at taxpayer expense.
I like the way you think........ that would have been awesome.
LMAO !
