Coconut oil has 0 cholesterol because it comes from a tree, and because it isn't inherently toxic it only needs to be mechanically pressed from the fruit, no boiling, bleaching, perfume, catalyzation, or rehydrogenation is needed.

Most of those supposed healthy polyunsaturated oils used to be paint binders and pesticides until the Edible Oils Coalition found a way to make them 'less toxic' - they don't kill as rapidly, but they do kill.

BTW: Stay away from those gallon sized plastic bottles of coconut oil you find by the vegatable oils in the supermarket, they've been processed using the same methods as the soybean and other vegtable oils.

Yes I understand those studies showing bad coconut oil effects were done with hydrogenated product.

Nevertheless coconut oil is a saturated fat although as you say not the cholesterol type. I eat lots of cholesterol type (animal) fats. It’s not a problem in low carb diets.
