she’s not a serious person

Whatever that means. Must be sort of like "not qualified to be President".

Here's the central problem I'm having lately with the idea of Palin as standard bearer:

Our nation is in serious jeopardy. Our liberties are being systematically denied by an out-of-control Federal government led by an Administration filled with socialist ideologues. I believe we need a leader whose interests do not extend to celebrity, but instead to the promotion of clearly-expressed ideas and unshakable principles.

I like Sarah Palin as a person. I think she is brighter than many people realize, has a good heart, loves her country, and would be an improvement over Barack Obama as President. But so would almost any Republican. Facing down Obama and the multi-billion dollar Soros/Union Democrat machine will require both serious intellectual weight and a will of steel.

I also believe that victory will likely require a new face untainted by exposure to the GOP "leadership" of the recent past, which has not exactly covered itself in glory. That includes both John McCain and George Bush, whom the Democrats are going to run against once again, if they can (and probably even if they cannot).

Obama is an intellectual lightweight who pretends (with daily assistance from his "media" cheer squad) to be a wise leader. Sarah Palin is honest, but not an intellectual powerhouse, either. And that is what we're going to need to defeat the unprecedented assault that is coming for whoever the GOP nominee ends up being. And trust me - I know these people - what they will try to do to that nominee will be uglier, nastier, and dirtier than anything you can imagine, especially if the Democrats suffer large Congressional losses this year. Only the strong and serious will survive.
