Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, appearing on CNNs State of the Union Sunday with Candy Crowley, had some harsh words for his Senate colleagues and for a system that thwarts any real bipartisanship. He said its up to the voters to let their members of Congress know enough is enough.
The public is rightfully upset about their Congress not delivering but when we try, groups on the left and the right just yell and scream. What I want to do is make sure that we can find a way to move forward. The current status quo is unacceptable. Be mad, get involved, insist that the Congress act better, Graham told voters.
To me the only way that we can move the country forward is to find common ground on the big ticket items. I hope that people in the country will start rewarding that more instead of punishing it.
Politics is driven by those on the left and the right--party activists with a stake in the current system and the stalemate. But thats not solving the nations problems, he said.
If we keep yelling at each other, said Graham, if we keep just saying no to each others ideas were going to have one thing in common. Were going nowhere together.

Please, please, please, will someone run against this guy in SC. I will start my pledge today.
Nuke DC from orbit and start from scratch.
Repeal all amendments except for the Bill of Rights,
Fire all Federal employees, no one votes except for income tax payers and veterans,
Representatives to be apportioned according to the spirit of the Constitution, no more than 200,000 constituents per Representative, increase the number of Representatives from 435 to as many as necessary.
Because the Dems will rally their parasites and vote out anyone that votes for a reduction in spending and entitlements.I think the majority is ready for someone to speak the truth. Voters in NJ, hardly a conservative bastion, are standing behind a Republican Governor who tells it like it is and is cutting spending dramatically.
Yeah, you’re right Graham, let’s just continue to agree and appease and compromise with these left wing idiots. Yeah, let’s try making them our friends, you and LUgar are good at that, and let’s vote for people like Kagan. Let’s take no stand....
You are the embodiment of what is wrong with Congress and gov’t in general. God, I wish there were term limits. Terms limits a-hole not independents is what will clean up your pathetic rhetoric and the do nothings in Congress with you.
That might be a little extreme, but a good political fumigation in November (2010, 2012, etc.) might be a very good idea.
Lindsey represents the limp-wrist wing of the republican party.
among the other things in the “closet”
I agree 100% with term limits. 4, 2 year terms for reps...and 2, 6 year terms for senators.
Atta Boy! ... See The Treats You Get For Voting For Our Liberal Supreme Court Justice.
Graham likes independents because they tend to be disgruntled liberals. Lieberman, Crist, Powell... There was a thought that McCain might go independent at one point.
That has to be the shortest post ever by you. Not complaining just remarking.
In Graham’s convoluted brain, independent means RINO.
Ol' Grahamnesty's problem, like most RINOs and liberals, is that they think this lunge towards communism is "moving the country forward". He's so full of crap that his roots are brown.
This country needs to move backwards, towards the small-government, low-tax, freedom-oriented constitutional republic that it once was prior to the power-hungry morons taking hold of the steering wheel.
Lindsay Graham must go.
Perhaps Grahamnesty is getting pressure from the Republican party to leave, in which case he would likely become an independent. Although I don’t think the repubLICKan party has the sense to remove this worthless RINO from their fold. They haven’t run Olympia Snow-job and that Collins bimbo out yet, and neither one is even remotely conservative.
Tell Kotex boy to STFU. He’s the PROBLEM! Just go away you stupid queen loser.
