My ‘97 Lumina LS was made in Canada, and has almost 275,000 on the ticker. I plan to keep driving it until the interior becomes uninhabitable, the wheels fall off, or Jesus returns; whichever comes first.
This will be my LAST GM rig — EVER.
IF I ever need to replace the car, I’ll shop for mid 20th century Ford iron, or buy a totally foreign make.
I will not bless UAW/Government collusion with a single cent more than I absolutely must, and not one red cent to support any of the Greeniacs’ misadventures in Autopia.
Although, I have heard that Audi has been racing a new diesel technology that just goes like a scalded cat...
Nah. Too many bells and whistles.
I have to agree with that Toyota exec who, back during the Toyota hearings said something like, “We’ve made cars far too complex.”
Well, “Hallelujah,” and “Amen”!
I was hoping SOMEONE in the automotive world would “get it” someday.
I want something with an engine housed in a cavity large enough to work around the whole thing, rear-drive so I can work on the transmission without dismantling the entire front end, OBD-free...heck, I’ll even take crank-up windows, manual choke, and AM-only radio. I just want it simple, basic, functional, and easy to fix if it needs it. I want to drive my car; not live in my car.
Amen Brother.
Remember when you could order your choice of motor transmission and anything else you might want in your car.
Today you get to pick the color and not much else, and even the colors suck.
