Chevrolet-Buick-GMC-Cadillac Sales Up 25 Percent in July 2010

DETROIT - August 3, 2010: July sales for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac increased by a combined 25 percent to 199,432 units. Buick and Cadillac brands each sold more than twice as many vehicles in July, compared with the same month a year ago.

July marks the 10th straight month in which total and retail sales for GM's brands increased year-over-year, demonstrating the continued strengthening of each brand in the marketplace as GM continues to rebuild momentum a year after its launch as a new company.

"When we say we want to design, build and sell the world's best vehicles, we're not talking about just one vehicle, one brand, or one month," said Don Johnson, vice president, U.S. Sales Operations. "Our July results again reflect that each of our brands has contributed significantly to our gains.

"The size and scope of the U.S. market demands a strong portfolio of well-targeted brands," Johnson said. "The success of Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac month in and month out, indicates that the new GM's brand strategy is sound."

Buick sold 16,799 vehicles in July, a 137-percent increase over last year. Cadillac delivered 14,919 units, up 142 percent over July last year. These are the highest sales totals for the two brands since August 2008. Chevrolet total sales in July increased 12 percent compared to July last year, and GMC total sales were up 27 percent compared with the same month last year.

GM's newest vehicles including Chevrolet Camaro and Equinox, Buick LaCrosse and Regal, GMC Terrain, and Cadillac SRX, CTS Coupe and CTS Wagon continue to contribute significant sales gains. Total combined sales for these vehicles were up 77 percent in July and are up 211 percent yeartodate.

GM further strengthened its position as the industry leader in crossover sales. Total combined sales in July for the Chevrolet Equinox, HHR and Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Terrain and Acadia, and Cadillac SRX increased 41 percent in July and have risen 73 percent so far this year.

Combined total sales for GM's full-size pickups, the Chevrolet Silverado and Avalanche, and the GMC Sierra, were up 22 percent during the month, with year-to-date sales 14 percent higher than a year ago.

We buy GM. When I read about the new GM plant in Mexico and saw how many jobs were going there , I changed my mind. When I change vehicles, it will be something else. My other half already jumped to a new Ford Explorer. My Acadia will not be traded for another GM. Taxpayer bailout and they build a new plant in another country? Scr** them

Should we have let them fail?

They did fail, don’t you remember billions of our tax dollars went to pay for the unions and the government stole billions more from bondholders to give to the unions? They are still failed...and will always be failed until the government and unions get out...does that answer your question?

Will Gubmint Motors rerun their Gubmint ad saying they repaid their Gubmint loans in full?

I can't afford a new FORD, but will only buy pre-2010 used GM products as well as any-year Ford into the foreseeable future.

Agreed. The Holden division of GM is producing the best vehicles in the compamy. 2 or 3 of their models should be adapted and built by GM in the US.

I refuse to cut off my nose to spite my face. New Camaro is on order. I own a total of nine GM vehicles of various vintages and they all perform well. I sleep good at night, also. They will continue to perform well when GOP makes gains in next election so I refuse to tie politics to automobiles.

Way to stand on principle COMRAD!

Does anyone else wonder how many of those cars and trucks were bought by the government?

If that were true - you refusing to tie politics to automobiles - then you wouldn’t buy a GM or Chrysler.

Because both of those are tied to politics and your money to GM is going to fund donations given directly back to the people you claim you don’t support.

This is exactly the same if you were being goods from Iran and they were taking that money from you and funding efforts against us.

This isn’t a GOP DEM thing anymore this is a systematic approach to dismantle our country. We are at war with the Progressives and you should do NOTHING that aids them.

You one of those people that has convenient principles - basically the same affliction that the Progressives have - rationalize what they are doing so they continue their own selfish desires.

Convenient? Like Ayn Rand. Again, I refuse to tie myself in knots over this nonsense. I may even buy some of the new GM stock if it looks like a good investment. If you sleep better at night with your opinions....fine, you will get no grief from me.

What does Ayn Rand have to do with any of this?

Bottom line: GM is the enemy, they are owned and control by Ozero, the Ozero owned union and his cronies.

Every penny you spend with them is your endorsement of Ozero and the path America is now on.

I have purchased over 25 new vehicles from GM during my life including several Vettes...

Now I will buy Mustangs if I want a fast ride. Go buy Ford and do something good for America with your money. Buying GM helps the enemy and make no mistake about it - Ozero and GM are your enemy!

Since this will undoubtedly turn into the daily "Bash GM" thread, I just want to say, I love my 2010 SRX. It's my 21st new GM car.

I’m sure it is a great car. It was engineered pre-Obama. However your money went straight to fund Obama and the Unions, not to continue great engineering. Enjoy.

I wouldn’t have a butt-ugly new Camaro if it was given to me! It’s uglier than that T-bird Ford tried to revive a few years ago!

Bad as the union bailout was, I’m having to deal with a 2004 Z-71 with only 80,000 miles on it that now needs a new engine due to the crappy low-bid and FAULTY heads GM knowingly installed on a crapload of 5.3 truck engines. The dealers will all smile sweetly and claim “oh, it’s only a headgasket problem” but it’s not! And as the Dex-Cool orange coolant mixes with your oil, it eats all the bearing surfaces inside the engine... ...new heads alone won’t fix it!

Remember this whenever you see a commercial paid for by these scumbags-along with the kickbacks they’re already been found to be giving politicians like the congressional black commie caucus...(via Fox News)

GM and Mopar can both KMA and go straight to hell! I’m now a Ford or Toyota buyer for life!
