Let's not forget that before his gig as Governor, then President, Ronald Reagan was what folks considered a 'B' movie actor. Did his acting gigs make him unqualified for the Presidency?
Let's face it. Before he went on the ticket, more people recognized Reagan as the host of "Death Valley Days", "General Electric Theatre" or the guy who played opposite a chimp in "Bedtime for Bonzo" than as a political figure.
Exposure in a National Geographic TV series promoting Alaska isn't going to hurt Palin a whit.
Except it gives the people who are already against her something to gripe about...
Boy, I don't see the similarity at all. Reagan's movie career was way before he went into politics. He wasn't doing it after he became governor, and certainly not while running for president.
