YouTube ^

Posted on 08/05/2010 9:20:27 PM PDT by Jayster

Two reporters engage in a heated exchange with black conservative leaders at a press conference at the National Press Club on August 4, 2010 challenging the NAACP on its charges of racism within the tea party.

You have got to watch this!!!! I am so proud of them to stand up for what is right.

*Sigh* I knew I shouldn’t have checked FR one last time before going to bed!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

At least where I am in GA, there is a growing number of black conservatives and people of all colors who support them. Maybe it’s because I listen to the Herman Cain show every night and I hear firsthand how people are honestly starving for the conservative message and the color of the person speaking it doesn’t mean a hill of beans to them. (Herman Cain is the elderly gentleman on the right when they pan over)

And Herman (and many of his callers) will tell you he has never seen a case of racism at tea parties and he’s spoken at more than 2 dozen. Here is his statement from back then http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2552313/posts

Remember too - black conservatives winning Republican nominations all over the place. Look how many in the Southeast just to name a few - Angela McGlowan/Mississippi’s 1st district, Allen West/Florida’s 22nd district, Princella Smith/Arkansas’s 1st District, Bill Randall/North Carolina’s 13th district, Tim Scott/South Carolina’s 1st district, Stephen Broden/Texas’ 30th district

These conservatives are closer in color to you and I than any liberal in the US - they are true red, white and blue.

I am some 5-6 generation southerner and race was never an issue growing up either with my parents or my friends. I didn’t really know it was an issue for anyone else except maybe my grandparents that is until Jesse Jackson came into the public eye. I believe he and his like (including Obama) are the ones trying to take us back to race relations to the 50s. I don’t know about you but I’m just not going there.

I think the point that needs to be emphasized it that of numbers and purpose. In ANY organization of a large enough size you will find a few racists but that doesn't make it a racist organization. Hell I think you could find a few racists at the American Kennel Club. That doesn't make the American Kennel Club a racist organization. This needs to be said over and over and over. The reason is that if the MSM can find just one racist out of many thousands at a tea party event they are gonna put a camera and microphone in their face and try to smear the organization. They will ferret out a racist if they are to be found. Boy do I hate the MSM.

Great video. About 2 min. 50 sec. into it, note the older gent with glasses that comes in from the right to say something to the moderator and walks back offstage. That was Herman Cain.

An excellent video.

I love their attitude: “Who here considers themself to be a minority?” Not one Black Conservative hand was raised.

Regardless of political rewards, the opportunities provided through Conservatism should remain in view especially to those in the Black community.

I should’ve watched the whole thing before posting my earlier reply. Herman Cain appears again at 6:46 in the video when the camera pans right of the center group, with 2 or 3 other black conservatives.

Gee, that almost makes them sound like advocates, not "reporters."

(Do I REALLY need to put a sarcasm tag here?)

You are absolutely right. Herman has said a few different times that he hasn't seen any signs of racism, so even if there were racists at the rallies, the tea party folks have done a good job dealing with them. He said he cannot say the same for the NAACP, however

His show on the NAACP was one of the best ever, I wish they would post it online. He absolutely destroys them. One former member (was in NY now in GA) called in and said folks do not realize how corrupt they are and what their goals are - they are NOT for the advancement of anybody but for their own political goals. That if the NAACP wanted to be relevant and helpful, they would be dealing with the high rates of welfare, crime, abortion, dropouts, gangs and pregnancies WITHIN the black community.

>> but that doesn’t make it a racist organization.

In any mid to large size gathering across America, the open display of racism is not tolerated by nearly any group. As a matter of fact, I’ve seen an instance where Tea Party members confronted an antagonistic racist who intruded upon the event - the racist was asked in no certain words to leave the gathering.

So the Left arm of media is being sorely disingenuous when it makes the assertion that the element of racism is openly on display at Tea Party events.

I have three long time CONSERVATIVE black girlfriends who I stay in touch with and close to. We lost one to our group over her anger that we refused to accept Obama’s policies. She basically went into a racist meltdown and stormed out of our quarterly dinner together and no one has heard from her since.

We have always been against socialism and diversity’s tribalization, because we have always been committed to constitutional freedom and meaning beyond race. Freedom has no color and it has no party. The Left of the GOP is as anti-freedom and is as obsessed with color as are thier friends across the aisle. We view liberalism as elitists (mostly white) imposing a new order racism in this post segregation era.

I am glad to see Black conservatives stand up to the racist and ignorant liberal press who happened to be mostly white accustomed to the maintence of their new and improved slavery - a socialist plantation. They were disrespectfully confronting some n-words who escaped - run away slaves - with disrespect and anger. And the free men and women in this press conference did a great job of slapping down liberalism’s racial ownership and mistaken sense of superiority. They did it for American freedom; the same “white” freedom Blacks of history fought for.

I got this video in an email today. I thought “Ho Hum”! Then I started watching. I almost stood up and cheered when the woman in the red dress got up to speak! Bravo to all of these PATRIOTS!

Disgusting how the reporters take these fine upstanding citizens to task, yet the same reporters bend over backwards to defend the thugs, with billy clubs, in front of that polling station!
