Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is throwing his support to former Rep. Nathan Deals campaign for governor of Georgia on Thursday, just five days before the Republican runoff primary that pits Deal against former Secretary of State Karen Handel.
The endorsement puts Huckabee at odds with two other potential presidential candidates former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney who have endorsed Handel, and places him in the same company as former House Speaker and Deal endorser Newt Gingrich.
Deal spokesman Brian Robinson predicted that Huckabee, who won Georgias presidential primary in 2008, would help boost Deal among grassroots conservatives.
Its huge. Hes just got so much credibility with Georgia conservatives, and thats whos going to show up at the polls, Robinson told POLITICO.

That is the end of Nathan Deal.
Nah. Huck has a better track record than Precious.
His boy came in fourth in South Carolina right?
I thought Eric Johnson's candidacy looked pretty good.
Ethics
The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) lists Deal as one of the 15 most corrupt members of Congress, for trying to influence officials for personal gain.[5] According to the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Deal "personally intervened with Georgia leaders to preserve an obscure state program that earns his company nearly $300,000 a year." The state funded DOR salvage inspection program is paid for with $1.7 million taxpayer dollars annually. This program makes use of two salvaged vehicle storage facilities (one in Gainesville and one in Hazelhurst) in which Deal is part owner. The state pays a $100 fee to Deal's businesses per car inspected at their site, this fee is the highest in the state.[6]
[edit]Office of Congressional Ethics report
Nathan Deal exceeded congressional limits on outside income and used his U.S. House office and staff to protect money coming from a no-bid state business deal.[7] On March 29, 2010, the Office of Congressional Ethics released a report concluding that Mr. Deal improperly used his office staff to pressure Georgia officials to continue the state vehicle inspection program that generated hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for his familys auto salvage business.[8]
Oh, he’s lost a few, don’t get me wrong. As has Palin. Huck just hasn’t endorsed a gaggle of rinos.
Darn.
And I was gonna vote for him. Voted for him the primary. He’s been my representative for years.
Karen Handel it is.
Thank you Huck for making the choice clear(er).
Gaggle, the only RINO’s Palin endorsed were McCain (kind of had to) and Fiorina, which probably saved us from Uber Rino Tom Campbell.
In fact adding in Kansas and Washington senate races, she has even been more conservative than Jim DeMint.
LOL. In other words you’re PW’d?
LOL.
GOOD ON YOU!
Imho, anyone that Huckabee supports is suspect.
Absolutely!
Now, if the Falcon Party would have come in and endorsed Cox ... or Duncan Hunter, Sr. ....
How's life in alternative universe today Pissant? What color is the sky today? Pink? Green? Yellow?
Remember to take off your tin foil hat during thunder storms. If we lost you, what would we do for comic relief at FR?
You really, really need to consider the sources. I live in Georgia and in Nathan Deal’s former district.
The Atlanta Urinal and Constipation employs Cynthia Tucker. The nutball Cynthia McKinney has been a frequest guest editorialist. I wouldn’t take that paper if they paid me.
As for CREW:
Melanie Sloan serves as CREW’s Executive Director. Prior to starting CREW in 2003, she served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia, after having worked for Congressional Democrats John Conyers, Charles Schumer, and Joseph Biden.[7] She currently serves on the legal team of Valerie Plame.[8]
As for the “Office of Congressional Ethics,” well, if there has ever been an oxymoron, that’s it.
As far as I’m concerned condemnation by the likes of the Urinal and Constipation, and CREW are resume ENHANCERS for Deal. Deal has been good conservative for his entire career. They hate him for it.
Any questions?
Hey, onyx. Nice to see you!
Nahh, the Huckster is just plain jealous of her.
