EL PASO - The 7th annual border security conference is set for El Paso on August 12th and 13th.
It is titled "Re-envisioning the Border Community to Foster a U.S.-Mexico Partnership for Prosperity, Progress and Socio-Economic Development."
High ranking leaders at the conference will include Office of National Drug Control Policy Director Gil Kerlikowske, Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Alan Bersin, U.S. Ambassador Carlos Pascual and Mexican Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan.
The even is free and open to everyone.

Another Conference? Great, all they do is talk, talk, talk. Secure the dam border before you do anything else. These people like making fools of themselves.
I have attended. They have this get-together every year. The Mexicans tell us what our laws should be and how we should run our country and what selfish bastards we are. “And here’s the list of things we want you to pay for.” The Americans in attendance all agree how horrible we are and bend over. Everyone present emits huge amounts of hot air and platitudes, but they never talk about what is actually going on: illegal immigration, theft of benefits from the American taxpayer, human trafficking and narco-violence. Complete waste of time.

Does this meeting have any actual policy implications, or is it just another pointless gab-fest? If it did have policy implications, it would be worth crashing en-mass.
