The debate over a planned Islamic community center and mosque near ground zero became a court fight Wednesday, as a conservative advocacy group sued to try to stop a project that has become a fulcrum for balancing religious freedom and the legacy of the Sept. 11 attacks. The American Center for Law and Justice, founded by the Rev. Pat Robertson, filed suit Wednesday to challenge a city panel's decision to let developers tear down a building to make way for the mosque two blocks from ground zero.(continued)

Keeping this thing tied up in litigation for years might be a good tactic.

"Lincolns party now the party of prejudice (Says Romney owns the ground zero mosque bldg!)
The Muslim community center to be built just blocks from the World Trade Center site
in Lower Manhattan cleared its final hurdle on Tuesday and was approved for construction.
As a pleasant surprise, New York Citys Landmarks Preservation Commission voted 9-0,
denying historic protection for the building that currently occupies the site
where developers plan to build the $100 million center, which will include a mosque.
Since its incipient stages in July 2009, when a Muslim-run real-estate development
company purchased the damaged, vacant building and land where the new center
will be built, the project has sparked controversy and debate.
....
the tattered building that was bought by the Muslim real estate company had
been owned by a subsidiary of Bain Capital, a company Romney founded in 1984. So its OK if his company can profit off the sale of the land ."

Keep it tied up, and then, if that doesn’t work, keep anyone from working to build it. If they try to bring in foreign workers we all know what the unions will do.

Fair and square?
Do you suppose that pressure from those/agents for the Islamic org. backed by Saudi Arabia monies, ... that are ready and willing to buy the agreement of those public officials, ... and who can give permission to build, has in fact been bought and has given agreement to this process.(at several levels)
Unfortunately our government has been bought and corrupted, in many ways, for years. Now they believe that is how government is done!
Sorry convoluted sentence.
God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

Better yet:
Construction delays that cost millions
Accidents
Poor workmanship that causes walls etc. to collapse
Mysterious fires what the FDNY can't possibly reach in time
Strikes with picket lines nobody can cross
Material delivery delays
I can think of lots of things that can keep this thing from being built.

Large Catholic facility & church across the street - for balance, you know.

Why don't we just let the Muslims build one of these near ground zero. We all know that this mosque will be the equivalent to a victory monument.

Nothing FAIR and SQUARE about it.
Criminal corruption is not legal (in reality). I know it has not been proved in court. This does not make it untrue. It is obvious that the fix is in ... otherwise the wishes of the people in New York and America would not be disregarded. MO
So are you concede, that the terrorists that flew into the twin towers, are the victors?
It does appear so, does it not?
