Whitman against Prop. 23 climate law suspension

Sacramento - Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman said Wednesday that she probably will vote against a November ballot initiative that would suspend AB32, California's landmark greenhouse gas reduction law.

Whitman, appearing on the conservative John and Ken radio show on KFI in Southern California, said, "In all likelihood I will vote no on Prop. 23," adding that she still backs a one-year moratorium that she would impose if elected. Proposition 23 would suspend AB32 until unemployment drops to 5.5 percent or lower for a year.

Whitman had been pressed on the issue but had not stated her position on the ballot proposition. She made her statement with the caveat that she had not made her "final decision."

Opponents of the proposition welcomed Whitman's stance, calling it an "enormous boost" for their efforts, while supporters noted that she still has serious concerns with AB32.

Earlier this week, a Sacramento judge made several alterations to the ballot summary that had been sought by supporters of the proposition, replacing references to "polluters" with "sources of emissions" and changing the description of the measure from requiring the state to "suspend" rather than "abandon" implementation of greenhouse gas reduction measure.

That was really painful to listen to.
“So... so... I have said from the very beginning ...”
“I will go to Washington and fight ...”
“I want to be smart and green ...”
“Put the foot on the other shoe ...” (sic)

And the bottom line...
“Many of the people I respect in Silicon Valley [i.e. her financial backers] say this [AB 32]
is going to jump start green jobs and green technology”

Perhaps California was better off when Meg Whitman didn’t vote.
She sounds like a total moron.

On another note, kudos to J&K for exposing the fraud Eric Hogue.

Well, methinks she just lost the energy vote.
You can take that any way you want.

I call it the "need to drive to a job and pay for own heat" vote.

How would anyone benefit by a complete meltdown in CA?

You know that you’re wishing hardship on millions of good people who vote R and support conservative principles...

I don't wish that at all. I wish Chris Cristi was governor of California, but then again, if wishes were nickles, I'd be a millionaire.

My point, which was quite clear, was that the California meltdown is in process right now and is going to proceed to its conclusion whether Brown or Whitman is elected governor, because the legislature has a Rat majority anyway, and because Whitman is only a tiny less liberal than Brown.

My point is that electing an uber-RINO like Whitman will change nothing regarding California's fate, but will merely provide a whipping girl for the Rats when their Rat polices implode California. Governor Arnold has already proved that what I say would happen with Whitman is correct.

Twenty-five years ago, California was one of the greatest states in America and a great place to live, work or visit, and it's terribly sad to see what's happening to it now, but the majority of Californians have voted themselves a "progressive" Rat government, and unfortunately they're going to reap what "progressive" Rat governments sow, which is economic and financial destruction. Rat policies are destroying California, and I hope that no one will make the mistake to think otherwise, but electing uber-RINOs like Whitman to give the Rats cover is the wrong thing to do.

The woman is utterly without principles. She’s got even less principles than Arnold - if that’s possible.

I wonder how long it took her and her army of advisers to come out with the “nuanced” stance that 1070 is OK for AZ but not for california because california is bigger?! She might have just as well said, it’s OK for Arizona because it starts with A but not for California because it starts with C!

There’s no way I can vote for her - my stomach hurts just thinking about it.

I think every candidate has more than lurkers - i.e. lots of paid supporters.

Check out Meg - she sent $$$ to Eric Hogue to shill for her.
And she pays RedCounty's Hanlon $15K/month for favorable press.
