Whitman against Prop. 23 climate law suspension

Sacramento - Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman said Wednesday that she probably will vote against a November ballot initiative that would suspend AB32, California's landmark greenhouse gas reduction law.

Whitman, appearing on the conservative John and Ken radio show on KFI in Southern California, said, "In all likelihood I will vote no on Prop. 23," adding that she still backs a one-year moratorium that she would impose if elected. Proposition 23 would suspend AB32 until unemployment drops to 5.5 percent or lower for a year.

Whitman had been pressed on the issue but had not stated her position on the ballot proposition. She made her statement with the caveat that she had not made her "final decision."

Opponents of the proposition welcomed Whitman's stance, calling it an "enormous boost" for their efforts, while supporters noted that she still has serious concerns with AB32.

Earlier this week, a Sacramento judge made several alterations to the ballot summary that had been sought by supporters of the proposition, replacing references to "polluters" with "sources of emissions" and changing the description of the measure from requiring the state to "suspend" rather than "abandon" implementation of greenhouse gas reduction measure.

She also isn't in favor of using E-Verify because it only has a 90% accuracy rating... 10% false positive or negatives... that means 5% are Citizens falsely come back as Illegal and 5% of Illegals falsely come back as Legal... if you're legal incorrectly classified as illegal you may have to challenge and correct the false report... no biggy... the other 5% is illegals falsely classified as legal... I can live with that too because it means that the remaining 95% of illegals are being correctly classified as illegal... If that percentage isn't good enough for her then nothing ever will be...she's lying when she says she doesn't support illegal immigration.

I'll say it again for those who weren't listening, or who want to contend with me:

Whitman is the WORST POSSIBLE CHOICE FOR GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA!

Conservatives would be better served, by far, by casting their vote for Jerry Brown. Not only would Brown not destroy the State GOP for a generation, he would probably be a better governor too.

And, he's a commie...and will hasten the demise of the dim stranglehold on this state.

She doesn’t make decisions she just parrots what Mitt and Wilson tell her to say!

That bitch wouldn’t know what day it was unless someone told her.

"THANK YOU, SARAH!"

What does Palin have to do with this? Palin never endorsed Whitman and as far as I know has never mentioned her name.

Got something against Palin?

My bad, folks, it was Cheney and Condi that endorsed Meg, not Sarah.

My bad.

The national Republicans would be much better off if Whitman loses to Brown. I don’t see any real difference between her and Brown anyway, and the legislature is still going to be run by the tax and spend Rats even if she wins.

It’s obvious Whitman has no principals whatsoever except to get elected and will simply say anything it takes to be elected. And then what? No matter what she does it will be ineffective and she’ll simply be the scapegoat for the Rats when they finish running the state into the ground.

At least if Brown is elected, the Rats will be in total control with no checks or balances, leading to a complete disaster that they will have no ones but themselves to blame.

“Whitman is the WORST POSSIBLE CHOICE FOR GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA!”

I would still vote for her if I lived in California. At least, you have a chance to convince her. I am troubled by her opposition to the repeal given the incredible economic difficulties faced by California. The enviros are a large part of the economic difficulties. Unions, enviros, illegal alien supporters, and Democrats are the enemies in California.

They made her their candidate.

How would anyone benefit by a complete meltdown in CA?

You know that you’re wishing hardship on millions of good people who vote R and support conservative principles...

people who just happened to be outvoted by Dem machines in
the cities which will not be effected by any resulting disasters brought on by Dem misgovernment.

I hate to say it, but it’s probably better if Jerry Brown wins.

California is facing some tough times no matter who wins, and it’s better if the democrats own the entire mess lock, stock and barrel.

I’m seriously thinking of voting for Brown or skipping that vote.

I guess Kalifornia hasn’t sunk low enough!

And she is one of them. Check out her charitable contributions to enviro causes.
