George W. Bush insisted that publication of his forthcoming memoirs, Decision Points, which will elaborate on 10 key decisions that the self-dubbed Decider took in office, be put back until after the midterm elections, according to people close to the former president.
Mr Bush has maintained a studious silence since leaving office and has declined, in sharp contrast to Dick Cheney, his former vice-president, to criticise Barack Obama, the US president, over the past 18 months.
According to friends of Mr Bush, he resisted plans by the publisher to launch the book in September, which is traditionally a better time to maximise sales.
His friends say that Mr Bush, whose two terms in office remain unpopular among most Americans, did not want to insert himself into the midterm election campaign, where Republicans are expected to make big gains. The book will be published on November 9, a week after the polls. Mr Bush will give his first full interview to NBC on November 8.

back at ya’!
The Legacy of Junior and Poppy as well as Clinton's Legacy can all be found right here. Chinese missile could shift Pacific power balance China couldn't have ever done it without the Trade Policies and allowed Technology sharing of Poppy, Clinton, and Junior. I pray our military as well as our nation survives the policies of those three incompetent leaders. The sum of just how far left our last three presidents took our nation can be summed up in one word as being the end result. OBAMA.
Okay. And, thanks for the good wishes.
I always heard it would be coming out on November 10th, never heard of any change.
Nope? Wrong answer, although I will agree we should have finished off Hussein the first time around. So, I suppose we’d still be there one way or another.
Like I've said it would have been wiser to simply gotten Iran and Iraq back at extended war with each other to satisfy that cults thirst for blood. Next Radical Cleric or rather Islamic Charasmatic thug dictator puppet the clerics install to power taking power in Iraq is going to have a bunch of nice shinny weapons and technology to use. All of it thanks to Junior. The only way to eliminate the risk was eliminate ALL Capabilities to harm.
BTW our first military target should have been the hotbead sewer of terrorism called Yemen.
Another self-righteous armchair QB calling the leader of the free world names. If you have all the answers why aren’t you in charge?
Just because I understand the requirements for war and a needed strong national defense and your beloved Liberal Republican hero did not doesn't make me an armchair QB. I do my homework before I post. Yet like I said Bush himself in the 2000 debates told this nation he and Mr Gore were not far apart on most issues. To that part Bush was true. He loathed the Conservative side of the GOP and it nearly cost him two elections. His lack of ability to unite the GOP cost us a two house majority. Why? Because he had no use for conservatives.
If a seat came open he had a long time family friends name in the media spotlight. If that friend lost in the primary to a conservative Bush lost interest. I give you the Fred Thompson senate retirement and Bush announcement of Alexander within minutes as an example. We had two far better conservatives on record. Who does Junior anoint? Poppy Friend Lamar Alexander who is almost as Liberal as Lindsey Graham on many issues. Enough Said!
How do you think freedom is earned anyway? It is fought for by those wanting it bad enough. It is preserved by those willing to fight against those trying to take it away. Yes be it even an Islamic Clerics Puppet Thug. If Iraq wanted freedom it was their battle not ours. Our goal should have been limited to any threat against the USA and that’s all. It can not be forced upon a nation who’s culture prohibits such like Iran and Iraq. You need to re-think your user name if you can’t understand that much.
So? Neither was I. I’m tired of the petty, sniveling namecalling of a ‘rich frat boy’ who could have sat back and enjoyed his entire life as a goofball, but instead had the courage to step up and take responsibility for a nation who needed an honest, respectful leader at the healm. He was exactly that for eight years. Babble on . . .
And on, and on . . . I understand war. I understand freedom. I also know weakness when I see it.
So does our enemies such as Islamic nations. They only understand death. Kinder Gewntler war and negitations do not work with them as it is considered weakness and lack of resolve. They have no problem killing their own only a fool would think they would spare us.
And on . . . you sure have a lot of pretense about what you think I don’t know. Do you talk to yourself a lot?
Poppy and Junior both brought in elitist Liberals which is what they are with -R after there names just like other like Rudy, Bloomberg, Specter, Lindsey Graham, Snowe, Collins, Lott, Newt, and a host of others uincluding John McCain as well. There wasn't that much real policy differences in Bush/Clinton/Bush any more than there was a major difference between Ford and Jimmy Carter. Bush's are like Ford the ones of the Ford/Rockefeller GOP. Just enough conservatism on a few issues that the MSM labels them conservative.
Bush SR has been called Poppy by many if not a majority of FR poster and most FR posters have little use for Poppy's policies. Poppy in his four short years as POTUS started problems unseen since the Ford years actually worse one on readiness. By mid 1993 one carrier was in such deplorable shape that the senior enlisted wrote to his congressman to complain. The senior enlisted was an E-9. Poppy may have been a war hero but neither him nor Cheney know beans about military readiness.
I know what you will say the letter was written in mid 1993 under Clinton. True but the detioration which cause it started over a year or more earlier. An issue so severe that after a third deployment without the needed repairs the ship had a boiler room explosion upon return to the USA in 1994. Three six plus month deployments in three years time. Ever worked around 1200 PSI boilers before? A leak the size of a #2 pencil lead can cut your head off and you can't hear that leak.
So what bad policies under Clinton actually changed under Junior? Certainly not this one Different names with different -Letters after them but more of the same wrong policies. Can you imagine where we would be today had Bush actually showed Conservative Leadership in his 8 years and reduced government rather than one of the biggest expansions since LBJ? Can you imagine Zero not havibng the Department of Homeland Security, Precidents set by the Bush administration to try and keep databases on citizens legal and private communications, limited federal powers instead of expansion of them, addressed illegal immigration by securing our borders, a priority to make our nation self sufficent and encourage manufacturing within the USA rather than China?
But if you really want to get angry there are quite a few post I have made in here especially after his second term started calling Junior a Smirking Chimp.
Conservative Bush is a myth. His speaches in 2000 said he was anything else but a conservative. I read many of them. I disagreed with most of them as well.
Here's a post I made in 2002. The two house majority loss was preventable. Bush had leadership issues early on and with a leaderless GOP house and senate the party fell apart.
Hate Bush? No! Clinton? Yes indeed. But I do not hold him above public scrutiny either nor anybody else in the GOP, Dems, or whoever. They are our elected leaders answerable to us the voter. My post are seen as anti-GOP but I'm not that either. I support quite a few. The bad apples though I say toss them at all cost including holding majority status.
Ok as for Bush. He so far has done about what I figured he would. Weak with China, Encircling himself as his dad did with the same weak policy makers of the Bush Sr term. Actually I have more dislike for Cheney than Bush if you could call it dislike. I do not hold Cheney to the great military mind status so many others do. The Bush SR military was in trouble by the end of the Bush SR term. Military wise he was closer to Carter than Reagan.
I read the Bush platform and had problems with it early on. What he was saying and what others were saying he was saying were two different things. One example is the Second Amendment. There was post after post about the pro- 2nd Bush. But an honest read of his releases on the subject were far from it. Bush Jr isn't by any means the worst POTUS nor is he by any means close to the best. I put him in the same group as Lamar Alaxender the former governor of Tennessee who was elected to replace Ray Blanton the most corrupt man in our states history. He looked good when compared to Blanton but was at best a so so governor which is why I will support congressman Ed Bryant-R for the senate race over Alexander-R.
Lamar Alexander brings up another sore point. The White House and RNC, as well as Senator Frist {my senator BTW} should have stayed out of it till we held our state primaries. Alexander was anointed to succeed Fred Thompson before the words were barely uttered from Freds mouth about his retirement. This has substancially harmed Bryant {a Conservative Chances} in the primaries and for all practical ended as well the chances of anyone else namely a conservative canidate opposing Moderate Alexander. {A Bush Sr man BTW} In that respect Bush is doing the conservatives very dirty by supporting Moderates early on.
I think unless he receives strong chastising from conservatives G.W. Bush will give away the conservative farm so to speak. I think he's purposely disengaged himself and his administration from main stream conservatism. Bush could do a lot better but I honestly don't think he has enough smarts or self will to break away from the Ford/Bush Sr circle of big government liberal leaning advisors and cabinet members. Yes this might get him re-elected but in the mean time he is setting us up for some major problems in the future with his precedents. There are many programs I just assume government not start. Home Land security? A political favor made post opening the door to bigger government and yet another regulating agency. Faith Based Programs? Not needed or rather no government funded needed. A better solution is to just abolish the restrictions placed upon churches and let Uncle keep the dollar so Uncle is never running the pulpit.
The U.N.ICC what part of unconstitutional and Endangering Entanglements does this man not understand? But again he's not Clinton. But this is indeed worthy of remembering as well. Remember during the Bush/Gore debates when he stated him and Gore were not that far apart on many {most} {can't remember exact quotation} issues? This waves a big red flag he is a man to watch and when needed must be called on the political carpet on a lot of matters war or no war. Speaking of which Remember the Fast Track Trade Authority push? Right after 9/11 to be exact he tried to use it as an excuse to push through that bad piece of legislation.
I'll support the good GOP candidates. I'll do written flames on those who by their deeds and words need them. I stated the other day in a thread if Bush stands up to the U.N. and stops us from becoming accountable to the ICC I would consider it his greatest accomplishment. Now we face yet another year to once again have a POTUS rather than say we can not sign into such an agreement puts it off.
So who in 2004? As far as POTUS goes it will be Bush whether he is capable of winning or not. POTUS though is not the problem. The Legislative Branch is. It's a horrible mess and the life long seat warming RINO's need to be sent home political party be ****** for the good of this nation. When a majority of our United States Senators defended the corruption of Bill Clinton that alone speaks volumes. When our congress seeks indictments for adulterous affairs over a list of felonies and acts against this nation that compromise National Security we have a problem. Simply put my requirement for office isn't a party membership or party endorsement but a willingness on the candidates part to uphold, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States and actually do it.

“Dont worry about flames. They only come out of the loud mouths of reptilian dragons.
George Bush both of them are fine and trustworthy men who love their country. I wish we had W back.”
“Reptilian Dragons”? GWB looks good only by comparison with and because of the epic failure of Obama.
GWB launched us deliberately into two wars in which military victory was not sought. He grew government entitlements, and he willingly went along with the financial fraud that brought us our present financial disaster - and remember, he approved the first “bailout”.
He may be a good man, but he will not be admired, nor missed as President by thinking Americans.
You need help.
