John Galt was right and Dagney Taggart was wrong. This sort of thing needs to collapse of it’s own weight and then the “producers” can come in and pick up the pieces.
By “this thing” I am speaking of the typical end that democracies come to. Of course, the war that will bring closure could be very, very bad.
I’m not sure going Galt will do anything but cause us all tremendous grief and suffering. Some few are capable of living off the land, but the carrying capacity isn’t there for a nation of many millions of subsistence farmers. Besides, going Galt is just right-wing Cloward-Piven. If we don’t like the latter (and I don’t), then we shouldn’t recommend the former.
There was a discussion thread here recently where
many held that most of our Army's soldiers would
follow orders to fire on the citizenry.
That is a very disturbing thought.
