The United States needs to break into two. Let the commies and progressive have California and a couple of other states. Nothing will change their backward thinking.

What part of a Federal District Court judge overturned the will of the voters of the State of California who VOTED to make marriage between one man and one women don't you understand???

If the courts impose gay marriage and make it the law of the land, I’d fully and unflinchingly start supporting secession.

I'm with ya! Walter Williams wrote a column about secession several years ago, and BY GOD he was right (as he typically is).

One of the important aspects to consider in the decision is the judge’s ruling that having previously granted gay marriage, California cannot then take away that right.

So polygamy is legal now in Utah?

I don't know about that. Judge Napolitano, who is usually pretty accurate, thinks Kennedy would vote with the liberals on this one. Kennedy previously voted with them to invalidate a Colorado law that interfered with gay rights.

Kennedy went out of his way to exclude marriage from the holding in Lawrence. Given how horribly written this opinion is, he would have to be a complete activist detached from reality to uphold it. The opinion is that bad.

Judge being gay a nonissue during Prop. 8 trial
February 07, 2010|By Phillip Matier and Andrew Ross

The biggest open secret in the landmark trial over same-sex marriage being heard in San Francisco is that the federal judge who will decide the case, Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker, is himself gay.

... appointed to the bench by President George H.W. Bush in 1989,

No it doesn’t. This affects only Prop 8 in California.

I just have to laugh at how they bring the Constitution into this.

No. The decision has to be upheld by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, in order for it to have effect on the entire 9th Circuit. This decision only applies directly to California.

You can expect an immediate emergency appeal. There will be another hearing withing days if not hours. It won't be long before the 9th Circuit weighs in. Not long at all.

The traitor Ted Olson is giving a press conference right now. I will never understand why he gave up his conservative values and sided with a bunch of disgusting perverts.

This decision affects only Prop 8 in California. Part of the judge's reasoning is that California previously granted gay marriage.

California NEVER granted gay marriage. Judges did. You can expect this ruling to affect EVERY state if it is not overturned!

The people are seeing the country destroyed from within by the liberals and are fighting back. Unfortunately, Obastard will still have two more years to destroy it by presidential fiat and through the many agencies he is the head of. Ad to that the dozens of liberal activists judges on the courts FOR LIFE and you see the enormity of reversing 80 years of liberalism. To do so would require that the Senate reject ALL liberal selections for federal judges, remove dozens of others, and Congress to repeal dozens of laws that created hundreds of government agencies. And we both know that neither is going to happen for a very long time, if ever.

The real danger is the young. I’ve seen polling data on the young and the effect of the NEA and liberal school agendas can be seen on their attitudes towards queers and gay marriage. Same with what they watch on TV. The average kid spends more time watching TV or learning from a teacher than they do with their own parents. Thats dangerous going forward given the pro-gay agenda of the media and the schools.

But it is coming to a state near you.

Yes, I would expect the notice of appeal and motion to stay the decision were prepared long ago. If Walker stays it (he should), then the Circuit Court need not act in an expedited fashion.
